So...today was an interesting day. I logged in around 9am this morning for some quick questing and thought I'd pass by where Jadefang spawn in Deepholm. As I flew over the area my NPCScan went off. I frantically looked at the minimap, and found his "dot", but it was greyed out, indicating it was underground.

Since I had only read about him here, I hadn't actually checked more specifically how to find him. So... i started to look for an entrance and finally found the cave. I rushed in and tried getting to him. I kept seeing him on the map, but noticed I couldn't find where he was. After some frustrating few minutes, I tabbed out and checked on the web.

That was when my heart sank. First of all I had missed that he was an 85 mob. (I was only level 83.) Second, I didn't know that there was special circumstances needed to get to him. (Daily or some strange bug.) It was rough to log off and leave him blinking there on the minimap. (didn't find any interested 85 hunter).

Fast forward about 10 hours. When I logged in this time I decided to check again in the area, just to know better where he really was. And once again, as I got close my NPCScan captured him.

Sighing I went on my way, knowing that he was so close and yet so far away. *sigh* On my way out I grabbed myself one of the ordinary shale spiders as comfort.

Really sad panda here.

Is he one of the easier rare's to locate? Or was I just lucky?

He is relatively easy to camp for b/c he only has one spawn point, and doesn't patrol around...

Yeah, I've gotten him twice, once to tame, once for the minipet he drops. Basically just wait for the daily once you hit 85 and don't turn it in until you're finished camping him. I basically used the bomb from the daily to launch myself up in the tunnel (most websites will explain how to get yourself up there easier than I can attempt to) and just sit there until you get him to spawn. I can't remember the spawn timer, but because he just pops up and sits there, it's easy. Just make sure you don't come across a jerk like I did who emote-spams your chatbox or tries to place the bomb where you're standing to blow you backwards out of the tunnel. Good luck on your camping when you're 85!

next time try one of these,
1. while ur outside of the cave, just unplug ur router or wireless as you FLY in the cave, head straight for his ledge, about 6-8 sec in plug ir interwebz back in and if ya did it right you will have just enough time to fly to his ledge before the server catches up with ya. if ya do it wrong well either you'll dismount to soon, or ya will get DC'd.

2 engineers only. rocket boots have about a 20% chance to throw you in the air,go right under his ledge get them to mess up(can be time consuming on a 3 min cd) and run forward as your trying to get them to malfunction if done fight the parachute will open and you will nudge forward enough to land on his ledge.

3. soon to be if not already hotfixed, and Night elf only. just die inside the cave under his ledge and while in whisp form (dead) just res on his ledge as the whisp can still fly in the cave.

while 1 is blatantly bending the rules, i recommend 2 or 3. or just wait for the daily. i for 1 hate the competition during the daily

Or find a friend with the daily. I've kept it so I can hold her/MD her to folks on the pillar to tame.
