First Time I've Seen Such Asshattery

Still camping TLPD. Skoll's up. My guildmate wants him, so I tag him and pull him under some trees. I wait maybe a minute; guildmate gets there very fast, quite excited. He starts the tame, and suddenly Skoll is dead, and in comes a blue fox. This jackass night elf hunter saw him taming, then landed and killed it.

He THEN proceeded to pull out Skoll himself, and then Arcturis and Gondria, as if showing off, and is now wandering around the TLPD camp spot I'm in. He won't fight, he won't do anything, just sit around spamming "BUR" (lolling). My friend's upset and I am pissed off... I REALLY wish this was a PvP realm right about now.

<Name Removed>, if I EVER catch you with your flag on, you will be dead--repeatedly--and it will make my effing day.

Really, just why? These people only make themselves look like idiots -.-

BUR apparently.

Wow. Just ... wow.
I hate people like that.
I wish that people would respect other people in this game, but no.
They think they're all big and bad for making other peoples' life hell.

That... Yet another person that I just can't think up words vile enough to describe.
If I was religious I'd say that he's the bloody devil, but I think the devil would be appalled by that behavior.
What a jerk.

Indeed. Thanks for the sympathy, guys, I just needed to get it off my chest. I was RAGING.

I've reported him for griefing; I'm not sure what good that will do. But he had the pet, the mob was tagged, so there was literally NO reason for him to do what he did. (Actually, Skoll was entirely hidden beneath the trees, so I'm not sure how he saw him. He must have actually used an addon despite him also having Skoll and therefore having it cached >.>)

Actually, I'm going to upload the pic. If any of you have managed to report idiots like this in the past, could you read this & tell me if there's anything I should add? : / I want a GM to tell him this is unacceptable at the very least >.<

Griefing Report

No naming/shaming policy here, you'll have to remove the name from your post.

Ugh. What a jerk. I hope he gets to take a long walk on a short pier. Inside a proto-planetary disc.

I hate people like that. :( Sorry about your friend not getting their pretty pet like they should have.

At least you have a timer. :/

There's nothing that Blizzard will do, most likely, but it can't hurt to get that mark on their record, y'know?

I hate when hunters grief other hunters, especially about rare spawns ESPECIALLY when it's a rare spawn they have. It's going against the family. -_-

Shame for your friend...But trust me, if its any consolation, you will see Skoll atleas 5 more times while camping TLPD :)

Had the same happen to me, with Krush, a druid killed me then killed Krush, midtame. Wooptedoo!

Anyway, hugs for you and your friend, and just be glad you're not as miserable as that person :)

I'm with Saturo here: no matter how asshat the people were, no naming and shaming, and no, hiding it in off-color text doesn't make it legal. ;)

I've edited the name out of the first post.

Acherontia, if you could replace your ticket screenshot with an edited version blacking out the character name that would be great. ;)

Yeah, he likely did it because you were horde. That said, it's entirely unjustified and he's a giant wanker. :(

Dosn't shock me as unfortunate as this even was. This game is played by a majority of low lifes and 15 year olds. The community in this game has been flushed right down the toilet last few years. Sometimes there is nothing you can do to avoid all the idiots.

Sad that some people have no respect for anyone, people like that really have ruined the game. I really only play wow as I can't find anything else that holds onto my attention for the down times I have. I really don't enjoy this game anywhere near as much as I used to for people just like that.

Sometimes when I have had issues with players, I would take notice of their guild name. Do a who search for people in that guild and ask a few people if a guild master is around and let them know what happened with said player. The couple times I've done that, I had pretty good results. Either an apology, or mats returned once, got someone kicked out of their guild another time.

I really really don't like the horde on my server..However.. I have a huge respect for the hunter class that I would treat a hunter the same as Alliance. If I had a way to get a hold of a horde hunter when a rare was up I would ask if they wanted it. I would never kill a tame on another hunter.(faction doesn't matter) That's just uncalled for and ignorant.

You can always put his name up on wow jackass if you wanted as well.

I report all griefings whether something is going to come of it or not. At least I know I tried and who knows ................ if this huntard is doing it to you two there's a good chance they're doing it to others. Always report it, just in case.

Sincerely sorry this happened.

Ugh, I wasn't "hiding" the name, it was more like whitehot rage threat which isn't relevant to the post >.> I'll go stick him on Wowjackass, as unused as that is

And yeah I'll just leave the screenshot off, tbh I'd utterly forgotten the name was in there. I'm thinking more like, griefing is against the ToS, but since it's such a broad term... It's generally the whole "doing something to ruin another's gameplay experience with no gain to yourself" am I right? I just am wanting to do everything I can to see if I can at the very least get a GM to tell him that this is unacceptable. HOPEFULLY he won't then repeat it to another hunter! But I figured if anyone else had done the same, they could tell me if there's anything I'm missing in the ticket. I'm hoping I'll actually get a live GM though so it won't matter as much. **

And Samarchan, you're right--I've already given him to 2 other hunters to tame, and seen him killed twice, well three times counting tonight. The thing that bothers me isn't the fact that the spawn is gone, or even this guy's rudeness as such--personally, I'd laugh at him and go about my business.

What bothers me is the fact that my friend dropped what he was doing, came to me as fast as he could (literally under a minute from Durotar to Storm Peaks) and had his hopes smashed by some jerk who just wanted to ruin someone else's day.

It bothers me even more because EVERY time I find a spirit beast or other rare pet, I will do everything in my power to find a hunter to tame it--Horde OR Alliance. I don't understand why some people see the opposite faction as anything more than other players--I guess some of the more immature people see it as a real faction >.> (Notice I'm not talking about Roleplayers here, that's another story of course!)

Seclipse, btw, I find your post incredibly insulting and rude in every way, and as everything you've said in it is hopefully addressed in this response, that's all I'll say.

Anyway thanks for the replies guys, I still feel absolutely horrible for my friend, and I'm hoping this other hunter at least gets a warning of some kind.

** The reason I mention a Live GM--my friend recently made a ticket regarding his faction change, which simply wasn't going through. They did not speak English as a first language, apparently, and missed every important point in his post, giving him a copy/paste reply that told him everything he'd posted in the mail  He kind of did a /facepalm and just made another ticket, which thankfully got him a live GM and a decent explanation of how to fix the issue.

I suspect it's among the reasons they removed cross-faction chat: People were utter asshats to one another. It's a lot like the millgram thing. Sure they were all dressed up and not REALLY working in a jail, but even being put on an imaginary faction or team... people got brutal.

I always leave horde alone. I even help a few of the friendly horde. I've been griefed by horde. It's sad.

You gave me something to read while camping the TLPD Novikova, thanks :P The Milgram/Stanford thing is... sick O.o And I've always wondered why there aren't more psychological experiments or studies done on the way people act toward the "enemy" in MMOs--you've hit that bit dead-on, and it's a little crazy--and very thought-provoking.
