The troll ducks!
That said, Royi's method of 'flyby while doing other stuff' paid off. I got addicted to plants vs zombies and figured I'd at least park Novi while I played fending off the undead.
Well, at about 4:59 PM, I trucked to the northern spawn point... AWOOOOOGAH! Lion'd! I almost died. I could barely see straight. Fortunately, I managed the tame!
Many props to the kind troll who was there and didn't kill him. I didn't realize you were watching for a friend. I wish you both the best of luck. And I feel bad. I had to reconnect and Novi was at the spawn point. I think I disappointed someone.
But I gave her the spawn timer. I had run AFK to fetch a burning pizza too. So yeah, it ate my brains.

Huge grats! He's beautiful, isn't he?
Don't feel too bad, there's no way you could have known that the troll was keeping it for someone... But I hope they get him too!

He is! More than I thought! I also about died on just SEEING him in the wild. Like Holy noodles! HURRY. And nah, I felt even worse when someone came running up on me logging in and rushing to save my pizza.
I should've hearthed first.

Congratulations! At least the Troll's friend has a time to go by now, and hopefully s/he will get Sambas soon too.

Hey, congratulations! Like others have said, there's no way of you knowing the troll was waiting there. How exactly does knowing when killed/tamed help in finding again? Does it always spawn 6/8/12/24 hours after a kill/spawn? Seems there would still be quite a large span of unknowing unless I don't quite understand how rare spawns work.

Gz on tame! Don't worry about the troll, it only means one competition less for them
I think we go blind when we see the rare we want, I personally did. When I logged in and saw Terrorpene for the first time, right infront of me, I just hit tame didn't even drink anything or used anythihng of that I prepared. Right when the tame completed, I turned around and I saw a little Nelf eating behind me
I realised he must have died and I ninja tamed....
But oh well. I'm still sorry whoever you were

Yeah, it's been giving me a weird error trying to upload them. And thanks guys. Though - as far as dying to a rare then letting someone else take a chance, I suspect the usual rule is 'take your turn, then someone else will if you die'. I'd be unhappy but that's what happens. I can't get the one where I just saw him and NPCscan is up to upload but here's one in Stormwind. Huzzah!
And yup! I figured turning this into a full blown camp would only end in heartbreak.
And also, SQUEES! Should start a fan club. >>
