I have many appearance buff pets on a certain character, from the boar, to the drunken crab and beyond. My issue though is I'd like to transfer servers with him. Will this be a clean sweep like a battleground? What about a faction change? I'd rather not transfer and lose all of those, but the transfer would be beneficial for me. ((I want to go to a RP server))

Any assistance on this question is greatly appreciated.

I'm just guessing, but I wouldn't think any of your pets would be affected. Mounts and items are one thing because some are faction-specific. But pets aren't, so I wouldn't think they'd get messed with. But don't quote me on that, I'd hate to be wrong and have you lose your pets.

Your pets should not be affected, and plenty of people have done server and/or faction transfers with their pets being just fine.

That being said, should something happen as a fluke and wipe their buffs, Blizzard would not be able to restore the buffs to your pets. Not trying to scare you, just giving fair warning it's a risk you'll have to take.

I would extremely surprised if it did mess with your pets though, there's no precedent for that to happen during a transfer.

Speaking from experience, I just transferred realms (not factions) this past week and was able to bring along all my "funky" pets. They came through 100% intact.

That'd be:
Swordfaced Lone Hunter
Firepig
Oily wolf
Oily bird
Ghostly buzzard

I am talking from experince to i have alot of the apperance buff tames and transfered not only realm but acounts (just got my own) and i kept all my pets.

What drunken crab?

Someone should make an updated visual buff pet list, and include if the eye candy is kept after death and the location/name of each pet.

The last list was in a thread that was locked.

Copying to the PTR doesn't remove buff effects, neither did shifting my character's faction on said PTR, so I would assume that moving from one realm to another would not.

Note: this was only the flaming boar that I tested it with. I doubt that the 'lose on death' effects would be different, but as said above, don't quote me!

The drunken crabs were on that list. They're from northeast Swamp of Sorrows.

So the only pets that won't lose their appearance "buff" (we should really call it something else) upon death are...

* Angered Arakkoa Protector - CONFIRMED
* Armored Battleboars - CONFIRMED by Echohawk
* Consumed Thistle Bear - CONFIRMED (and found) by Socks
* Oiled Fledgeling - CONFIRMED
* Oil-stained Wolves - CONFIRMED
* The Lone Hunter - CONFIRMED by moxo

Is that all? (I am not counting the ones you can tame but will lose their appearance open death.)

Can anyone confirm if this is still the case since the hotfixes that prevent their taming?

i xferd with oil wolf,fire pig,ghostly 2headed bird,maggot from horde to alliance quite a few times, they didnt get effected with their buffs/looks. u should be fine
