Unread post by Fangz »

Hello everyone here is a guide for your first spirit beast.
1.Go to curse.com and go under wow adddons and download both npc scan, npc scan overlay and if u want silverdragon.
2. when downloaded log on and activate them.
3. npc scan overlay gives a map of rare spawns and where they spawn.
4. the easyest one to get is acturis the spirit bear i got there and there he was. He spawns in the grizzly hill the npc scan overlay will show you.
5 there good luck on those spirits :D

Good guide- I just want to note that Arcturis is not necessarily the easiest to get. Just because you got him right away doesn't mean others haven't camped for hours to get him. I had to wait about 6 before he showed up for me - other hunters I know have searched off and on for days trying to find him. Just be cautious of jumping to assumptions! :)

I would be wary with the Curse website. I've had some issues with viruses and stuff from them so I use WoW Interface. :) If you haven't had any problems then that's great but I just wanted to let people know to be careful. :P

No that's fine :D I've just had problems with other addons and stuff from their site and wanted people to know. Maybe they're better now; I haven't used them in a while. ^___^

Acry MAY be regarded as "easy" because he has a single spawn point, but I think he more than makes up with it with a theorized 24-hour respawn timer. If you happen to miss tagging/taming him by a second or someone leaps out from behind a tree and griefs you, that's a whole day of waiting down the flusher.

Absolutely. Also, if you're horde, it's easy for alliance to watch you from their base at the top of that hill.

Yep, Arcturis is the last of the Northrend spirit beasts that my boyfriend needs. I thought it would be easy for him since he practically just walked up and tamed all the others and Arc only has one spawn point, but nope. He's been looking for days (I think it's been a week or two) of on and off camping for the bear.

In general the difficulty order seems to be (for me)(easy to hard):
Ghostcrawler -> Arcturis -> Gondria -> Skoll/Loque -> Karoma
Nowadays, with how empty Northrend is, Loque and Skoll are probably easier to get. I wouldn't know, I haven't tried recently.

The only SB I've been able to get my hands on was Ghostcrawler. Karoma spawned underneath me and was killed by a nelf hunter, so I figured I'd go camp something that had a smaller spawn area and...well, couldn't be killed. I didn't want Arcturis and I think I'd be hunted down and shot out of the sky if I flew into Sholazar again, and hey, I wanted a crab anyways.

It took me three days of camping, and when he popped up on NPCScan he phased out and I couldn't find him for close to five minutes. I wouldn't call him an 'easy' tame because he nearly ate me, but he does seem to be one of the easier ones to track down. At the very least your competition is limited to other hunters and not rare-killers - and I didn't see any other hunters out there.

You can call the Northrend rares 'easy' to get but just like the TLPD, everyone has had the same idea. Everyone says 'NR is empty!' so everyone goes to get Skoll, Loque, the Time-lost and so on. The camp probably isn't as bad as it was when Sholazar was prime mining territory, but it's still pretty crowded out there on my server.

For me the easiest spirit beast to get was Ghostcrawler, he was just sitting there waiting for me no camping nothing. :)

Arcturis is not that easy took me seeing him two times once being tamed by another hunter and then the second time I almost had him, until a hunter aggro'd him away from me and tamed it herself.
Third time was a charm:)

The hardest spirit beast for me anyways was Skoll oh he was an elusive little wolf took me three weeks and a lot of sleepless nights to get him.
