Last night, some drunk mother fucker hit my sister head on. Only by the grace of God did they come out alive. How many times do people have to be remembered that driving while drunk is one of the stupidest things you can do! IHow dumb can someone be to think it's perfectly fine to jump behind the wheel of a vehicle, while your BAL is THREE TIMES THE LEGAL LIMIT! THREE FUCKING TIMES THE LEGAL LIMIT!!!! How fucking dumb is that? He and the idiot that was driving for my niece Ashley's car accident should both rot in a cell, till someone goes in there to throw another one of the drunk assholes in there and has to move their bones over for a place to sit. If you can't bring one friend to be the DD, then maybe you shouldn't drink! If you at the house chilling and you run outta drink, stop drinking and go to bed! If you wanna fuck your brain cell count up by fucking with drugs and shit, do it at home and stay at home! It's not astrophysics, IT'S COMMON FUCKING SENSE! I would hate, HATE to have been told my sister and nephew were lost to this kind of avoidable event. I put this here cause Petopia is like another family to me and drinking and driving rampant down here and the country! My niece died a few months back from a guy she was riding with slamming into a guardrail and she flew out the windshield. The driver, along with the rest of the people in the car were hoped up on weed, pills and alcohol. Didn't put it here cause I'm just coming to grips with it now in my heart. Sorry to shine a dull light on the day, but I feel this topic is close to everyone's heart. Hope everyone has a great day and please be safe.

Wow, your sister is lucky to be alive. Sorry to hear about that.

As for drunk drivers, the crux of the issue is that a drunk person is in no state to judge whether or not they can or should drive. Don't get me wrong; I am not excusing anyone. Rather, I'm highlighting a major difficulty in fighting drunk driving. Combine this with the fact that people have a nasty habit of procrastination and/or neglecting to plan ahead, and here's your result.

All you can do is to not allow a drunk-off-their-ass person get behind the wheel if you have the chance. Beyond that, I don't know what to say :(

My brother got into a wreck cause the guy driving was drunk, broke my bro's nose shattered his pelvis broke his back and some ribs. IRONICALLY the driver about a year later was walking home from a bar (instead of driving) and he was hit and killed by a car. o.o

edit:

just remembered it also broke one of his legs, it turned it entirely facing the other direction and the paramedic had to twist it back into place. *cringe*

If you ask me society isn't cracking down anywhere near hard enough on DUI offenses. Most vehicles are veritable weapons, and should be handled as such. If you're stupid enough to drink&drive you should suffer for it, and I don't care whether you actually caused an accident or not - sheer luck should not be a deciding factor on the punishment.

/rant

Glad to hear your sister made it through alive.

This is exactly what I always say. I don't understand why this isn't apparent to everyone (except that I guess they're such an everyday thing that people just don't think about it?? On the other hand, we're very aware that the chef's knife we use every day to chop our veggies is very much a weapon so...) but people just seem to not get it.

I remember a roommate in Calif. giggling about going 110 mph. GIGGLING. Until the cops stopped her and pointed out that they could charge her with attempted manslaughter or something to that effect (can't remember the exact details). I can't tell you how many of the morons in my dorms back then actually thought they were better drivers when high. /facepalm

I'm really, really glad to hear your sister is ok.
