An hour ago, I was randomly questing for reputation before suffering from NPCscan related heart failure. Gah! SAMBAS! Wasn't a pet I was particularly after before spotting him in the wild. He's so -floofy-! FLOOFY. What sane hunter can say no to the floofiest pet in existance? Performed a spectacular face-plant dismount in front of him, dismissed my current pet (after setting off rapid fire, snake trap and mashing kill command for several seconds) and flung a few arcane shots into his floofy visage before... EGADS! A rogue attacked him. Well, tried to. Alas, 'eet was too late! One yellow flash later and several furious emotes from the alliance rogue... He was mine! It was only afterwards I figured he might've been trying to save that pet for someone...

... Whoops! Sorry, whoever you are!



I eventually managed to calm down enough to mount up and make my way over t- BRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHUUUUUUUUUM. I think I was floored. NPCscan and a severe phobia of loud noises certainly doesn't mesh well! Gah! A WILD KAROMA APPEARED. Somehow managed to smash my face onto the keyboard and tame the pretty bugger. Somehow! Hastily retired from Twilight Highlands in an attempt to prevent any further NPCscan related shenanigans.



After staring at them for a good twenty minutes, it dawned on me. I've no clue what to name them! Frantically asked a friend for help and the most I got out of them was: "AFROTASTIC. No, wait... AFROCAT." Being on a roleplay realm, I doubt that would mesh well with WoW's setting.

Any ideas? Trying desperately to avoid anything cheesy! I tend to have my thick-as-a-plank troll villager merely look at the pet and blurt out the first word he thinks (For example: Cactus the Krush, Sandbag the Crocolisk, Bald the Vulture), but... I'm absolutely stumped! Leaning towards 'Floof' for Sambas, but... I'm not sure if 'Glowything' the Karoma would go down too well in Sen'jin Village.

I totally agree about the cardboard cutout thing, ha. But that's fantastic. I don't have much help in the way of names, unfortunately, since I just named mine Gavin after my old former black lion.

But man, it's great when you just get surprised by them like that.

I have a question about your Karoma screenshot...

See how the background is kinda blurry/fuzzy while you and Karoma are clear... how did you do that?

My WoW settings are Ultra maxed out and I have never had it look 3-D-ish like that... or at least have never noticed it looking like that.

Karoma, well...I have no idea. I took good three hours to name mine, which became Dimecho. Because he's dim, and his sounds echo. Yeah, no imagination really, but it suits him

Congratulations! I'm the same way w/ NPC Scan/Silver Dragon. Begins with an "OMG that noise came out of nowhere" to an "OMG ____ spawn!" to "I'M TARGETING HIM BUT WHERE IS HE?!" to "Okay, if I dismount, hunter's mark, it'll show his dot on minimap" and ends with "Ah, another Rare dead/tamed..."

D'awh, thank'ee! If only you could change the NPCscan alert noise into baby murloc gurgles!

Oh! It's a combination of my crap view distance and poor photoshop editing skills. Sneakily blurred (using 'zee blur tool) the background to put more emphasis on the OMGpet!

this is a really late response buuuutt, if you ever feel like changing his name or for other hunters looking for names, I think Ganymede seems to fit Karoma just perfectly. why? because Ganymede is the largest satellite in our solar system and it is mostly composed of water and ice. And since Karoma always looked like an ice sculpture to me the name of this satellite couldn't have been a better match. In Greek mythology, Ganymede was said to be the most attractive of mortals. He was a prince whom Zeus abducted in order to become the "cup-bearer" of the gods. what do you think?!!
