Flying to UK at the moment to double check which version of the bloody elf has the roses and as per usual, checked to see if Arc was up. Granted he has never been any time I've passed and I'm only going to pass information to Hunters if I do clock him but hey. He's actully one of few Spirit Beasts I think look nifty though being a Druid I may be biased in that regard.
Just watched a Level 85 NE Hunter shoot, trap then proceed to deck him for the loot before flying off.
First tag and all that but dude, I'd have rehomed him rather than shot him for something utterly useless to me, sigh. Maybe this is the Exotic incentive to get leveling Mitsuko again rearing it's head since there's not much they can taunt her with in Outland.
Can someone with Arc hug him for me? Ryai is kinda going hyper with her Violet Proto at the moment so is otherwise indisposed.

*hugs Oberon* Too bad. ): I've seen Arcturis killed a number of times, myself. I'm forgiving of other classes because hey, shiny rare, but when hunters know what a spirit beast is and kill it anyway (unless it's Loque, don't mind achievement hunters), I get so mad.

Found out it was a Survival Hunter so either tried and realised couldn't then decked, or was just being an ass hard to tell.
And no Arc wasn't for me. My highest Hunter is currently 62. I just keep an eye out for rare spawns on my Druid/Priest so I can yell at Hunters should I happen to trip over them doing something else.

If it makes you feel any better, I not only hugged my Arcturis, but had named him after a druid that was my brother's first character, but got deleted (long story).
Aquind is taunting your hunter to come to Northrend...

Well, Gamma sends back a nose-smoosh!
Poor little glowbear.

Just now we had this bright troll yelling in trade chat that he wants to sell Gondria's blue, and even mentioned searately "It's from GONDRIA! I killed it!". I left town at that point.

ya ive seen a few people kill him, a lil note that it seems ALOT of people think he is part of the frostbite achievement. not makin excuses for the guy cause it takes all of 2 sec to check lol but even i almost killed him thinking that also, till i took a look and then promptly rehomed him lol.
sorry man, just keep on a lookin, arc was one of those hard Sbeasts for me to get, i believe he was my last one even after Gcrawler and karoma.

This is mind when I eventually get a Hunter high enough

My priority right now is finishing off pre Outland area on my last 3 to hit 60 last week so they can head off clean and finish the latest bloody event when they fix it.
That said he looks really nifty in the wild, stands out a mile unlike Gondria whos eemed to blend more in.

if it is any consolation, I have found Gondria four times and (since I don't want him) managed to find homes for him each time. Arcturis twice (after my own tame).
I found then all via npcscan doing NR archeology (a great dual activity combined with rare spawn finding)
Oh, and hugs given.

I don't have a ghostbear nor do I want one, but I send love towards them all the same.
I've killed Arc three times now and Gondria twice(and Loque three times or so, while we're at it) as BM, and like to think I'm not any less of a person for it. I did try to find homes for them each time, but no one was interested and the way I see it, it's my rare, I found it, and I'd rather kill and loot it instead of letting someone else run across it. It doesn't make a lick of difference if you're a hunter or a mage, a rare is a rare is a rare in Northrend. I didn't have to ask in General and whisper every hunter I ran across, nor did I have to sit there for twenty minutes with a bear/cat smacking my face or staring anxiously at a trap. It's a nice thing to do, but it is most certainly not required, and I don't believe it's fair to attempt to make someone feel bad for not doing it. It's not an unspoken law, it's not listed in the ToS, and I could very well go right back to kill first, ask later routine if I wanted.
I find it next to impossible to leave rares well enough alone. I even had trouble walking away from Shadowclaw on my warrior. The fact that I kill Northrend rares as a hunter shouldn't make me a monster, ditto for this guy. I don't really think he deserves any of the perceived hostility aimed towards him(not so much by the OP but by some of the other comments here), because he found it and he can do whatever he likes with it.
Sorry for going off on a tangent, but I get bitched at every time for 'breaking an unspoken law' or 'being a bad hunter' or having no soul or whatever else angry hunters can cook up in a fit of rage, and it bothers me to see that it's still acceptable to do the same to other people. I know pets mean a lot to some people, but until they're by your side they're as good as simple pixels, imo, and the Karoma you lost wasn't necessarily your Karoma, etc.
Tl;dr: Sorry it happened, but it's his rare to kill or tame as he wants, and his class has no effect on that.

I was right there when he decked it. I just find it kinda depressing when I do know people on who want him at the time. Do I berate him at all for it? No, I even said "First tag and all that but dude, I'd have rehomed him rather than shot him for something utterly useless to me, sigh." which of course my own opinion of trying before firing. No idea why you're going all guns blazing at me just for a personal choice and asking if peeps wouldn't mind giving tamed Arc a hug while Ryai was still being Proto-hyper.
This is coming from me who has a Druid main and a supporter of the first come first serve. There's no getting around however that I personally find it kinda depressing just to deck him after pissing about.

Thats terrible... i tagged Arct once for my guild leader only to have a warlock completely decimate him in a few seconds soon after i had performed the tagging (no hunters were in the zone on horde side and i didnt see any humanoids on my minimap so no ally hunters hovering around)
*hugs Fallaner her bear and first tamed spirit*

Ha that actually happened once when I tagged Aotona and tried to keep her alive after Ryai had gone off sick but then a Druid (Despite me telling them no) decked her. Such is life unfortantely but is a bit ".... Godamnit" and does put a dampener on yer day
