Quick little topic about something I'm sure we all have at least one favorite of.
What all is everyone's favorite zone(s) in game at the moment? I'm sure when Cata is out, some favorites might change along with the zones.. but for now what zone is your favorite? Has it been your favorite from the beginning? What do you like most about it? Do tell!




My personal favorite (and has been since i first quested there) is Azshara.. Just the general look and feel of the place with all of the colorful autumn hues.
I love the fall months so the zone was an instant favorite the first time I wandered into it. I'm quiet curious as to how it'll change when Cata goes live. :)

Favorite zone for me is from Wrath.

Grizzly Hills. I love it and it's just like the place I always wanted to live. Other favorite zones include... Howling Fjord, Ashenvale, Moonglade, Eversong and Nagrand. <3

Gotta say BC because of Nagrand. It just has something that Mulgore doesn't for some reason. If any of my toons settled down, it would be there.

Plus the random floating islands are really neat.

My favourite continent hands-down is Northrend.

Wrath of the Lich King brought me my favourite zones of the game. I just adore everything about it, and Howling Fjord probably tops my list as my favourite area.

I never liked Burning Crusade much. Nagrand was alright, and Zangarmarsh looked pretty but I got sick of the quests really quickly. Overall I just hated the space/demons aspect of BC since I'm more of a fantasy girl rather than a sci-fi. WotLK hits all the right notes with me. ^^

Yeah, the jump from genres kinda struck me the wrong way too.

Winterspring, by far. I think it's sad that it's all but abandoned now, but that makes it a nice, beautiful, quiet place where I can just hang out and explore. And despite the weeks of camping there, Sholazar Basin is pretty high on the list, too, and Nagrand's my favorite BC zone.

As crazy as it is, Stranglethron Vale. I love all the bright colored tigers, the dark panthers and King Banglalesh hangin' out XD

personally i like dragonblight and borean tundra

i love grizzly hills too. the intense pvp action, the lush forests (bears are cool) and the lakes, really pretty. i guess i kinda dont mind the basin, and ashenvale isnt so bad.

As soon as I went to Howling Fjord I fell in love with it. Gorgeous scenery and lovely music. Same with Grizzly Hills, and I like the Basin too.

Agreeing with everybody else; Nagrand was great in BC, but most of the places weren't. And Hellfire always gave me a headache if I played too long.

I like most foresty or wide-open-plains areas in the old continent (like Mulgore or Ashenvale). I only ever really hated two zones--Descolace and Azshara (the former because it is annoying; the latter because it is creepy and I always feel like I'm being watched).

Hmm, interesting. Now that you've mentioned it I think I can see what you mean. Because it's such a barren zone (as in, there's never anyone there), there definitely is this eerie feeling that permeates it. That's a good way to describe it, like you're being watched.

My favorite zone as a hunter/leatherworker/skinner has got to be Sholazar Basin. This goes well with the link it has to my other favorite spot Un'goro Crater. I think the scenery is gorgeous and the variety of animals in both make a skinner happy happy happy. On a side note, the view of the mountains and waterfalls as you cross the bridge on the refugee escort from Borean Tundra is breathtaking...a huge grats to the Blizz designers on that one.

My dranei hunter loves to wander back to Zangarmarsh, sit under a giant mushroom, light up a pipe and blow smoke rings while watching the Sporebats floating peacefully by.

Hey wait a minute, is that tabacco in that pipe? I feel sorta funny...

Zangarmarsh is my absolute favorite. In Northrend top place goes to the lovely Howling Fjord. In Eastern kingdoms my vote is for Swamp of Sorrows, in particular the area around the Sunken Temple where the emerald dragonspawn patrol. In Kalimdor I always like to visit Silithus, the sinister buzzing of millions of insects and the Lovecraftian monsters crawling in their dark nests always give me goosebumps... in a good way ^^

Netherstorm, no doubt. I just love to fly past the ecodomes, and maybe visit the goblin spaceship. The manaforges just add to what I like about the place. Shiny technology, and an abundant supply of cheese, at least until they "fixed" that.

I'll never forget seeing Darnassus for the first time and being simply overwhelmed. I didn't appreciate how cool-looking the Night Elf starting area was until I rolled other alts and saw the world, as it were, but Darnassus just floored me. It also happened to be raining in-game and IRL at the time, which just added to the coolness factor.

The first time I made it to Zangarmarsh, I felt like it had been tailor-made for me. I loved the colors (especially after Hellfire), herbing bonuses, and pet treats! I was never fond of the Outland zones in terms of looks, but Zangarmarsh was the exception.

I love the Lich zones, especially Sholazar Basin, Grizzly Hills, and Storm Peaks. Those are the zones I've spent the most time in as a result.

I have to say BC.
