6 months ago tonight my faithful companion was taken from me in real life. My brazillian mastiff, Eowyn was reported maliciously as a vicious dog. She had never bitten anyone, and had only threatened someone once, when they tried to kick my door in. The city seized her, and illegally (without due process or even a behavior test) euthanized her.

For 4 years she was my faithful hound. She slept with me, protected me, my wife and my children. She stuck with me during a time when I thought my life was over, when my wife told me she was going to leave me. Through it all, she was there for me. She never stopped loving me totally unconditionally. And in the end, I couldn't protect her like she did me.



So tonight, I tamed Karoma, and named her for you. Goddess rest you.

And I'm so sorry your faithful guardian was taken from you. I think it's an amazing way to memorialize her. Now, she can live on forever by your side and no one can take her from you ever again.

That's so horrid that they did that to you! I'm sitting here trying not to tear up at the unfairness of it all. I'm so, so glad Karoma decided to come to you, you deserve it.

Thats sad But I'm glad you found Karoma to help carry on her spirit. I miss my real-life companion too.

I appreciate everyone's comments. She was very special to me.. more so than any other animal I have ever had.

I could go on endlessly about the unfairness of the breed-specific dog-hatred going on in the world today. If your poor Eowyn had been a miniature poodle, nobody would have had a case to stand on, even if she HAD actually ever done anything. It's absolutely ridiculous, and the laws are disgusting.

Still, I love your memorial of her, and luckily she will always, always live in your heart and your memories

Oh gosh. I'm so sad this happened to your dog. I'm sad I didn't get Karoma to you this morning - though I am glad you got him/her tonight! Congratulations D.

To answer a question from earlier.. I never did find out who did that. Which is fortunate.. since I would probably be in jail. I am not a violent person by nature, but at that time of my life, I wasn't all that emotionally stable.

I dont think even an emotionally stable person would've held back. I know I wouldn't have if anyone EVER did that to my dog.....oh wait, they'd have to not only get through me but my mother and father as well. Triple Whammie!

Eowyn has become my permanent companion. I thought nothing could replace Loque as my "always pet" but she certainly has.
