Here is my boy! He's my foundation dog, the one who started my interest in dog and turned me into a responsible educated owner, I owe it all to him!


Dakota is a 19 month old German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix, we are competing and training in dock jumping, obedience, oval track racing, sprint racing, weight pulling, some agility. We hope to start training for flyball and Schutzhund.

And some pictures from waiting on the side lines, if you are wondering why the other dogs and Dakota are pulling. It's because another dog was running the lure. Dakota walks great on leash, but during practices you do not want to discourage a dog's drive for the lure.

I'm not the only one that sticks banana labels on my dog's forehead.
That's an adorable dog. Sounds like he needs a LOT of exercise - you're awesome for doing that for him.

Thank you! The banana sticker is an inside joke between my friend and I now.
He definitley needs to stimulation, he is not for lazy and impatient people because he gets bored and will take it out on you. When he gets bored he comes up next to me, sits, puts both his front paws on my leg and stares at me. Then he will bark, and bark.

Winter sucks for the poor guy, it was flooded for several weeks here... We had to do a lot of training, mental stimulation, and raw bones so he could keep his sanity.

He is beautiful lol so full of character XD With the energy he has, its definitely a good bonus you guys know of so many different parks and grounds he can run in (hopefully they arent far away either :3)

You really dont see much of those two breeds in him at all And boy are you guys active!
If i where to have a dog id need something that require minimal exersize xD;

Thank you, he gets so bored without the exercise. I cannot wait for summer.

Also both his parents were AKC registered. The crappy backyard breeder dumped both his parents with the puppies in a shelter.

Doberman Mixes tend to have very thin tails, Doberman's with natural tails actually curl over their backs. And well Rottweilers always seem to pass on the larger skull size.
Dobermans, German Shepherds, and Rottweilers are not the only ones who hold those markings. Beauceron, German Pinscher, Miniature Pinschers, Austrailian Kelpies, Australian Cattle dogs, Catahoula Leopard dogs, Tibetan Mastiffs and more also carry that gene.
On a German Shepherd it's refered to as a Bicolor. Dakota is actually more of what they'd call a faded Bicolor.

*faints* Those floppy ears are just so amazing.
