It's just a Monday for me. x)
My boyfriend and I thankfully agreed at the beginning of our relationship that it was a pointless holiday. We've never celebrated it.

Its not pointless! You must give money to Hallmark, local jewerly stores, Godiva, and fancy restaurants!!! That makes it all worth while!
At least what my wife tells me...

I hate VD for what it became.
Concept is lovely, but the whole fuss just makes me sick.
STOP CARING about the cards and sweets please.
Seriously. It's not even a real holiday.
But.
Here's a poem for you.
roses are #FF0000
violets are #0000FF
all my base
are belong to you

I don't celebrate it. My husband is grateful.

I strongly dislike the commercialism of it - other holidays seem to give you an option on whether to take part in the commercial aspect of it, but all VD is, is a day to buy overpriced versions of the same flowers, jewelry, and chocolate you could buy any other day. And why on earth should we limit ourselves to one day to tell our partners that we love them, when it's something that should be said every day?

"Just the thought of being with you tomorrow is enough to get me through today."
Not a favorite holiday of mine, no. I got chocolate, though, so it's okay.

Normal day here too. I did grind for Mr. Grubs or whatever that mini-pet is on his character for two hours, so he'd finally have the animal he's always wanted on his hunter. He, on the other hand, gave me the gift of dressing the baby after her bath and doing some other kids related stuff that is often my job in the evenings.
Tried making a special shrimp risotto for dinner, but it tasted yuck to everyone but him. So I guess it was a success.
All in all a very satisfactory Valentine's without any commercial crap involved.

Currently I'm taking a trip back to my teenage years, in the good ol' mid 2000's.

Valentines day is also my sisters birthday, so its always been more about her then anything else.
However, now that I am in a relationship, we agreed we would go "all-out" on holidays, but we'd still do something nice for eachother. Every holiday, he cooks up a nice meal of my choice and I do something of his choice

for him
We are both getting really annoyed with the whole retail commerciallism of the holidays, and it ruins it for alot of people. Jacked up prices on flowers and chocolates, its sickening, if anything the prices should DROP during the holidays to encourage more peolpe to buy them. However, thats what the day AFTER the holiday is for

I still don't understand why chicks like flowers >_>. We had a whole discussion about this in another thread but I just don't get it.

Part of being male maybe?

Not a big fan of VD, but I did take my fiancee out for a dinner. If I ever send cards to my family members or friends, I never buy them, I always make them myself. :3

I like flowers and plants in general, they cheer me up (pretty to look at and some of them have got a really relaxing scent). But I'm really bad at keeping them alive.

So basically because flowers are representative of women themselves? Pretty and they smell good? o.o

I just like receiving flowers because of the thought.

Heck, it doesn't even have to be flowers. Chocolate, a hug. A sign of affection is all it is to me. I don't even like flowers that much - they're very pretty, sure, but indoors a lot of them just make me sneeze and sneeze and sneeze.
I don't have a boyfriend, so Valentines doesn't have much romantic quality for me. Just another day. My immediate family exchanges a few chocolates and flowers. We're also having a fancy dinner. My sisters also made a truckload of cupcakes. And that's about it! Mostly just pigging out on sugar.

I also lack a boyfriend or a million friends who go, "Dude. Let's give Azu stuff." so nothing too exciting.
My friend and I just gave each other a list of stuff we want and planned to give it to each other. I got three Hershey Bars, three 3 Muskateers bars, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, an Alot of Awesome (If you can guess the reference, you win.), and stickers of dragons I drew that she colored and sticker'd.
Meanwhile, I gave her a bag of Hershey Kisses, a bag of Peanut MMs, a "Team Buffy" shirt my mom and I made, and an old journal we were collobarating with other friends on that I lost and refound. xD

I just always figured that if you're someones girlfriend or boyfriend or husband or wife they know you love them, and don't need to be reminded or atleast they don't need an entire holiday dedicated to remembering to show someone how you feel D:

This is the first Valentine's Day I've been single for in 5 years... and the best one I've had in 4. I'm not doing anything special for it, but I'm also not with the jerk I wasted way too much time on.
