Flamingos! Flamingos! (Not suitable for lawn usage)

I always enjoy reading stories of other people so I figured I'd share my little adventure I had last night =]
My main hunter is alliance, and my friends hunter is also alliance. I was sifting through my stables and brought out Echeyakee. My friend says "Oooh that cat is really pretty", I nod in agreement. So I asked him if he'd like an Echeyakee of his own, he was a bit surprised and told me it'd be too much of a hassle. PFF.

I log off and create my level 1 horde alt (Hunter of course), and start questing. You only need level 10 to start the questchain to summon Echeyakee so it wasn't too bad. *Ding* level 10, let the adventure begin! I make my way to Silvermoon City, train my new spells, head over to Undercity, run up to the Zep to get to Org. (Looks at map) Oh my, that's a long ways to travel. Oh well!

I did the 2 pre-reqs to get the Echeyakee questline, and then pick up the quest to summon her. My friend is happily awaiting my arrival to tame his new companion. *Ding*, there it is, one very happy cat and one very happy owner! =D
After seeing my friend get a new pet I think well hm, I'm going to goto Mulgore and try my luck with a certain gorgeous pink flamingo (Mazzranache).

I get through Northern Barrens when I see this:

Well... now what. Not ever having been to this zone since Cataclysm hit, I had no idea how to get across while not on a flying mount. So I walked down the border a long ways away and saw a little path across so I made a leap of fath and jumped down the split. Was able to jump up a few rocks but in the end, I couldn't get across so I died in hopes of rezzing on the other side. Well, I was wrong, back in Ratchet =/ I brainstorm and the only possible way I can see is to swim around. Many corpse runs later through a pack of Theramore guards, I see a path! Victory! Still tons and tons of corpse runs later (My did they add lots of Alliance camps o.O) I finally get to Mulgore.

I run around and around looking, but no sign of her. I'll admit, I was pretty disappointed but then there she was! I was perplexed at first because she wasn't the glowingly pink flamingo I had once seen, but nonetheless she was mine =D

Meet Delilah =) I know this isn't a super rare spawn but, we certain had a crazy and long adventure and I have a close bond with her due to that.

Thanks for reading!

That is quite the adventure! Pink birds are pretty cute xD And one of these days I shall get one again

And is it just me, or did the white lions whiskers get even more noticeable?

Maybe those are the equiv to our grey hairs when we get older, just a sign of Echeyakee becoming more wise *Chuckles*

I'm a big fan of flamingos as hunter pets. Congratulations!

I haven't looked, but are the sparkly pink tallstriders in the Southern Barrens tameable? If they are, I assume they don't keep their sparkly/glowy effect. Even if they can be tamed, nothing compares with the original authentic Mazzranache.

I know it's a bit late, but ya know, you could've always just flown back to Orgrimmar and taken the zep to Thunder Bluff...

Boven - Ya they are tameable but I don't think I could ever bring myself to tame them, they just aren't the same as the glorious Mazzranache. Also, I'm not too familiar with Horde areas so I didn't know that haha plus, it was more of an adventure this way =D

Araela - Thank you, she's def the cuter one of the two *laughs*

That last pic of you two is absolute win! Thanks for a fun read, and grats on your pretty pink birdie!

My Goblin has one of the Barrens flamingos (tameable, but don't keep the sparkle), and though she's not the original Mazz, I love her to bits anyway! Great, great pet with SO much personality.

Next time, just take the zeppelin from Orgrimmar to Thunder Bluff, and skip The Barrens completely!

*ducks*

hehe Speak, you know theres a Zep that takes you from Orgrimmar to Thunderbluff right? :-P

*edit didnt see Cialbi beat me to the punch! Wha-zam!

Myself on my fancy Goblin was able to cross the barrens divide once with a simple Jump - Rocket Jump - die close enough to spirit rez on the other side.

I'll add another piece of advice.... Did you know theres a Waystone that teleports you from UC to Silvermoon and back? Thats nuts!

Theres also a port to Caverns of Time in Dalaran! and also one in Shattrah if you're revered with the Keepers of Time!

um.... Engineers can port to either Toshley's Station in Blades Edge or Gadgetzan (if gnomish) or Everlook and K3 in Netherstorm (if goblin).

Also..... hrmm.. i'll think of more fancy things!

Thats fancy right??? :)

Congrats though!

Why do both you and your big bird look so bashful? Would either of you know why the land behind you is a giant, broken mess?

I think Lullaby (Clutchmother) is just happy to have survived Deathwings destruction and has happily dealed with the circumstances that surround her.

My bashful look? Well, I was very pleased to have gotten my new "Flamingo" and that shows on her face =]

I dunno that the zep qualifies as 'time saving' since it's gawdawful slow and doesn't zone. It's pretty much just for lowbies to get to/from cowtown to Org the first time. After that, everyone pretty much just takes a wyvern. Still, while waiting to arrive at your destination, you'll have to make a pit stop, give the dog a bath, wash the car, or read War and Peace.

Lovely Ryno took my baby gobby hunter, Phoxi (on Nesingwary) to get the Death Ravager yesterday and on the way I asked if we could check on the Clutchmother. I didn't realise at first that she has a new spawn point. We went to look and there she was. So my baby goblin has a tallstider to match her new greenish theme and a ravager that matches as well!
