have you ever had a pet, you desperately wanted to click with, one you have tamed over and over, in every skin variety and from every place ?

for me it was Hyenas, I LOVE hyena's irl there one of my favorite beasts, but on wow I could never click with one, I tamed every skin I could get my hands on leveled them in hopes we would mesh but eventually we parted,every time... that is till flying around bored on a whim I landed in the barrens, there was humar napping, I saw takk pacing fretfully, even looted his nest for a baby raptor of my own, wandering aimlessly I saw this little hyena pacing about, alone, no family, no other mobs nearby, I hesitated but, having a spot open I tamed him, I couldn't help but think, poor thing, no family about not even a critter, then my guild pulled me into a run, it was shadowfang keep. it went fine, up till the boss, he was almost down, healer dies, Tank lay on hands himself and we down him, my hyena patted up to me and smiled proud of the job we have done, and that was that, we clicked perfectly. now he just needs a name.

have you had any pets like this ?

Yes, spiders. I love them in the real world, I even have one as a pet... well not really but he lives behind my monitor and I let her stay there As for in wow? I just can't, I have tried. Every model out there and its just something I cannot keep as a pet.

Specifically warp stalkers. I think they are really neat, and I've tamed The Huntress a few times, as well as the white model but none of them have really clicked with me. But every time I see the Huntress I want to retame her. >.<

For me it's dragonhawks. I love them, I think they're very beautiful, but the noise they make is just so nails-on-a-chalkboard horrible to me that it drives me up the wall and keeps me from bonding with them, so I ended up getting the Sunreaver dragonhawk mount to make up for being unable to have them as a hunter pet.

Spiders. I like their animations and the noises they make, but I never seem to be able to keep one for a long period of time.

Now I really want to retame my old green, slim legged PvP champion, Swat.. :/

Sometimes, it's just getting the overall combination right. Raptors have had a terrible history with me. My original blood elf had tamed a venomhide raptor, but there was zero click. Kallimon had tamed Dart on a whim as Pacane, but I just wasn't feeling it. The running animation bugged me. But I wanted to like raptors; they're essentially baby devilsaurs. Still no luck.

Fast-forward to the 4.0.1 PTR. I tamed a handful of different colored raptors for Kalliope, since I was going to need a sundering pet. Nothing worked, no one clicked. No name fit. The worst of it was that I never had pictured her with a raptor at all, despite loving Theseus (King Krush). I figured I'd try Takk out for my localized example of the gray skin. Unfortunately for Takk, I had previously tamed Humar (because he was there!) and the dismissed-pet-appearing-when-you-dismount bug was still in place, so he got one-shot. I sighed at Humar, little suspecting that this was a gift from him and P.Dawg. I tamed one of the nearby pink raptors while debating whether getting a different gray raptor would be okay just to see if there was a click; I could always get Takk for real on live later. Pink was pretty much out of the question, as I really didn't like the concept of a pink dinosaur. And yet...there was something appealing about the color combination. I went back the next day, only to find Takk still missing. I did head over to WC for a temporary gray raptor, but I could tell it wasn't working. I could tell the only color that I liked was the pink, as much as I didn't want to admit it and couldn't rationalize it in my head, so I kept looking at the other colors. Suddenly, I knew her name - Psyche. And finally, the pink made sense. Everything came together.

There was still the trouble of Pacane not truly clicking. But she had to stay; my devilsaur is far too attached to her. The orange skin was soulless to Pacane. It was killing me, especially since I like Dart. I considered a color change. I had never liked the green raptor skin; the squinty eyes did nothing for me. But I tried it on Pacane....and it clicked. It was her. Her personality, which had already been determined, bubbled to the surface. I waited for 4.0.6 so I could tame her as the ravasaur matriarch - I'd always liked her too and then Pacane and Beignet would be from the same zone. Everything made sense!

I did eventually end up with Takk too - on my blood elf. The challenge of the massive leaping tame gave me an idea, so I went and got him.

But yes, sometimes, it's just the right combination of pet, hunter, pet personality, and hunter personality to make such things happen.

Turtles, definitely. I originally wanted one because they have the same special ability as beetles but something about them just bothers me. I don't care for the new models (even Terrorpene) and I care even less for the old models. I had a turtle on an alt who was too low for a beetle and ended up abandoning it and tanking with a boar instead, lol. I think they're cute but they aren't for me.

I love raptors but could never find one that clicked so much with Sas. I kept looking but nothing.. tried taming all the colors to but none Id actually keep. That is until the matriarch was tameable.. I like.. screamed like a little girl when I went on the PTR to try and tame her and it said I could!

So taming her made me quite happy!

haha I love hearing all the storys, I cant click with spiders or boars either, even through I want one, I look at em all the time

Boars, spiders, dark-colored cats, and any flying pets.

I honestly think that's at least part of the reason it took so long for hunters as a class to click with me... On the many attempts I've made to level them, I'd always tame the pretty yellow boar to level with, or the owls outside Darnassus, or the sabers on Azuremyst isle. And...they just didn't work for me.

Hmm, for me it would probably be Bats.

I have a couple on alts, but I've never been able to click with one for Veph, as much as I want to. I love the concept of a bat pet, but the current in game models just have too many details that bother me. It's odd that I can be fine with one on an alt character, but for my main they just don't cut it. I'd love to see either a touch-up/revamp of the current bat model or a brand new model variety added to their family.

Warp stalkers here, too. I've tamed Huntress 2x, a teal one, a green one.. I just can't do it. I dunno. Can't get into wind serpents either.

I've tried so many times to love wasps. But I just can't. In theory, I should, since I like them in real life and the WoW models are really cool looking, but, it never sticks.

Gorillas.

I just cant get over being squashed by the big ones in STV on my very first toon running to Booty Bay.

For me, it's probably bears. I think I've tried at least one bear on every hunter and I just cannot get into them. I've tried taming rares, I've tried taming different colors; recently I even tried taming one of the enormous black bears in Hillsbrad Foothills, since I think they are really awesome in the wild. But then, when they come flop-waddling to my side, I cringe and release them. I want to like them, I really do, but I just cannot stand them! If Blizz were to ever make a new model for a pet family, it really should be bears. The split lip, the funky leg-clipping, the horribly ugly closed mouth, the posture...I can't stand any of it! >.<

I want to like raptors (I'm a paleo illustrator in RL, so I'm a big dinosaur nerd), but I just can't click with them in-game. It might be because of the jewelry (even just the gold bands on the featherless green ones bother me). I really dislike the Outlands raptors, but I would love to keep an Old World raptor of some sort. Just never happens.

Same goes for Devilsaurs. I'm thinking of camping Krush, because I do like his skin. If I could click with Krush, I would probably go BM on my main hunter. I think their lack of a run animation bothers me.

Ohohohoh Wind Serpents. I love their models and snakes/reptiles irl, but their fast flappy animation annoys me somewhat...and as much as I would love to have one, there's no one colour that I really go 'OH MY GOD THAT'S AMAZING AND I MUST HAVE.'

I know I will never click or like or even tame one of these two (not what you're looking for, I know) but I can't STAND gorillas or the new monkeys. At all. And I never will.Can't stand monkeys in real life. I can't stand humans either, and since they're descended from monkeys, it pretty much explains it

More relevant to your question: Ravagers...they're very Giger-esque (H.R. Giger is one of my favourite artists), but unlike the Outland Chimaeras, I just can't get over their walk/scowl/noise they make when they attack stuff >.<

And back to the pets I hate: Mastiffs. Yuck.

Raptors, on my main hunter. She had one, a long time ago, named Cyras. He was blue, and she loved him. But she was forced to be rid of him for some reason. Ever since then, she has been unable to have the same connection to any raptor. I've tried every skin, old world, outland, even getting back a blue raptor and naming it Cyras again. It wasn't the same. I want to like them, but it isn't meant to be.

Devilsaurs have a running animation. They hunch down lower and open their mouths wide when they're pursuing prey. It's pretty epic and one of the things I love the most about Krush/Theseus. When walking, their mouths stay closed and their posture is more upright.

For me it's cats!!! Kormai went through about 5 different cat models before she reached level 60 even. And I just didn't really click with them. Since then she's tried many other cats, and so have all my other hunters. And though I keep a cat for the buff I definitely don't click with it. I'm currently pursuing Sambas in hopes that I will click with him. God I hope I click with him!

I don't quite know what it is but I just hate all the cat models. (except Loque'nahak but he's not a real cat!)
