Could indeed be a pet as SD is mean.. like that.. did you reset it and npcscanner? Basically ive learned to not trust either of them until I click it and it shows an alive mob that is walking around in the wild.

SD likes to also say that the slithid ravagers in 1k is the rare mob ive also had it go off as I open my stables for humar.

i have nps scan to but when i try add sambas its do everything right but when i type the location i tryed eastren kingdoms and twilight high lands ( good spelled ) and the location is like red ( invaild ) i dont understand realy whats the prob

Dont add in location, just the id number and his name and hit the plus sign. It works better for me cause twilight highlands is wierd for npcscanner..

Or, don't go any further than adding his id number, name and Eastern Kingdoms.

I tend to avoid adding a zone, and leave that to when npcScan gets updated.

I typed in his NPCID, Eastern Kingdoms, Sambas. Also, you are in combat in that screenie, are you sure combat doesnt affect pinpointing the target that pinged? NPCScan doesnt pop the 'Target' button until you are out of combat, i dunno what SilverDragon is like

Edit: Yea if he had spawned he'd be right under your dragon or under and a little back, i think it was definitely a pet. Though it has only happened to me once accidentily while camping a rare, im most definitely not surpised that ppl will take their brand new pet out for a spin for a few hours in the zone they tamed it in.

Ive also been the victim of one very rude person who brought out his rarespawn behind a tree to make it look like the real beast spawned and ive heard tales of ppl (time-lost specifically here) flying at his height around major spawn areas to trick ppl who fly by into thinking its the real time-lost (though it only lasts a second or doesnt work at all, its still not very kind)

Thats because Twilight Highlands is EK. XD You just need to add in Eastern Kingdoms....not his zone.

Actually for awhile there npcscanner was wierd.. it didnt think TH was in EK and kept messing up (like area not found but then again this was right after cata hit so im sure it works now)so I just had it with no location and it worked fine for me. Thats how I got my Sambas..

if all else fails.. make a macro to target him. thatll save you alot of grief just

then put down trap and hit tame, you want to for sure tag him.. and trap him.. he hurts..

tried not working as i typed u before but the trick with only the id and the name works aswell :3

Worked just fine for me.

Are you using the right ID number for Sambas? Is your npcscanner up to date?

Hi Dexster. What helped for me was a dismount. I couldn't see Sambas when I was flying and when NPCScan blared its alarm. I dismounted and found Sambas. For some reason, there's this weird phasing bug(?) all over Twilight Highlands that many are experiencing -- happens with Elementium nodes too.

Good luck again. It's not a "fail" but a learning experience.

the area you were flying around Dexster in your screenie in post no. 1 of this thread has you in an area that is close to a phasing zone, even though sambas doesnt phase it might of added to bugging him out

If NPC Scan goes and you click on the pop up window and you do NOT have him targeted when you click on it, then it was some other hunter nearby with the same pet. I'm not shocked as it looks like your right beside a daily questing zone.

I'm curious at one thing only... Another member here and I were sitting in Hinterlands on the ptr talking about OCJ and some of the other new pets.

While we were sitting there *both* our NPCscan's picked up Tarvis the Vile in Twilight Highlands. I'm not sure what caused it, but is it possible that something is going on different here and why most hunters on this site don't have him pop the scan was because we already have it cached? I know it sounds crazy that it happened when the rare popped in TH and us in Hinterlands, but it did happen. xD

Anyway I don't know if that bug exists on live, but might be worth checking or making sure your npcscan is up to date.
