So I'm asking you guys this since you're like the most sorta kinda online "friends" if you could call us that since I don't actually talk to or associate with very many of you and I don't know you and you don't know me etc the list goes on etcetera

.
Have you ever had a significant other that you can't seem to shake your feelings for? You see, I met this girl a few years ago, we got a long GREAT there was a real connection there (I think anyway) where we seemed to understand and genuinely care for one another. Long story short without going into details everything sort of spun in for me, and I pushed everyone away from me and it ended, pretty much even my friendships with everyone ended. But alas there's always been regret that's haunted me I still care for her, think about her a lot, and just generally wonder how she's doing. I'm confused as hell because nothing like this has EVER happened for me, I'm generally an uncaring asshole and can shake feelings for people if I put my mind to it. It's just that she's still on my mind constantly years later and I don't know what to do. I am most certainly not the kind of guy to come parading back in and asking forgiveness because I'm prideful like that. Is it at all possible to think you're over someone and never truly be over them? I would actually be entirely willing to sacrifice my pride and apologize to her and just let her know I'm sorry. But I'm not sure if I should do that.
And that my Petopian acquaintances is my conundrum; Do I continue on now, and let the past stay in the past or make some attempt to atone for it?

Well, if your having guilt and thoughts still about her, you need to talk. Letting her know that your sorry is something every girl would like to here. Even if she hates you to death. It's your choice, but if something is bothering you, try to fix it

Best Regards:

Don't tell my husband, but I still have dreams about Ambrose. (For that matter, don't tell Ambrose either ...)
Anyway, I don't think letting her know you're sorry for how things went down is a bad thing. I'd be really careful about how I phrased it, though. You don't want to come across as 'well I apologized now you have to be my friend again', you know?

Yeah I know, I'm not saying that I want to be her friend or anything, basically I'm not expecting anything good although I never do I'm more of a plan-for-the-worst possible outcome person. It's just mainly that I want to know what she thinks of me, it sounds weird but knowing that she hates me would be better than never knowing I think.

Personally ................... being a female and all
I would want to hear the apology whether or not I hated them. Those two simple words said and meant have broken down years and years of thick walls of anger towards another person.
She may hate you but accept your apology but then again she may "love" you for it, the slate wiped clean and you two can start over. Question is are you willing to take the risk to put yourself out there?
Remember ................. the greatest mistakes in life are the risks you never took.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
If anything do it for your own peace of mind. By the sound of it, if you don't, it will haunt you till you do.

This. Honestly, you don't have an option, regardless of how she'll receive it.

It depends, I read through twice and didn't really see any reason for the breakup, but then again i'm sleepy so I may have overlooked it. I understand what you mean when your friendships with people fall apart, I've only ever dated two people and it happened both times, I can pretty much guarantee it would happen if I ever started dating again.
So the question you should be asking yourself is do you still /want/ to be with this person, or do you just want that little voice that keeps reminding you of her to stfu? It may be worth it if you want to stay friends, ect.. it's entirely up to you. I personally make it a habit to avoid all people from past relationships, one of them keeps commenting and asking random questions but I never reply, I don't see any need; those relationships are in the past, and I would much prefer my exes to leave me in the past. All of me.. *poosh* vanish.. gone... XDD
If you did something horrific which resulted in the relationship dying.. then perhaps you can appologize, get it off your chest, and then try to move on.. If you do decide to appoligize, don't get too formal or spend an hour writing 5 paragraphs.. Just something simple, like:
==
Hey, sorry for being a prick when we were together (X) amount of years ago, it's been bothering me, so I just wanted to appologize..
Yours sincerely

That's what i'd write, if I decided to appologize.. (which I wouldn't.) =P

Felidire, I think you're looking for this:

I take it that what he meant by 'it ended' was that they broke up.

"without going into details " I said
Even though the petopians are my acquaintances, I still would rather keep some of it to myself y'know?

For some reason I get the feeling this is going to be one of the "greatest things I ever do" or one of those "worst things I ever did" things D:

For better or for worse, you'll be better because of it.

Kinda D: it's weird cause I can't just go back and trust her the same way we used too so it's like baby steps in a way lol, so I'm a tad bit nervous about talking to her again or telling her whats happened in the time we haven't talked etc D:.

Take it slowly; so long as the lines of communication are open, there's no rush to sort things out.

yep, sounds like you're headed in the right direction. It's just a question of where that direction will lead you.

Like Kalli said there's NO reason for you to rush anything. Rushing something that shouldn't be rushed just leads to more problems down the line. Take the baby steps and go and a comfortable pace.

It's weird because me and her don't like have anything to talk about @_@ well it's not so much that as it's like we're in a room... with a giant invisible moose in it and we're constantly shuffling around this invisible moose that we both knows there but dont want to admit is there. >_> Relationships with people are so complicated -.-
