Greetings fellow petopians!

This is actually a bit of a two-parter I was looking for some guidance with:

I've recently started a twink hunter, and upon taming Ressan the Needler (who's to say a twink can't have awesome pets ) I've noticed he 1) doesn't have his basic ability and 2) his special ability keeps disappearing off the pet bar. As you can imagine, this is somewhat puzzling and irritating. Any ideas?

Also what's the best bet for getting to the draenei start zone (I wants me a death-ravager) as a lvl 19? :S

Well for one....pets dont get a special ability til 20. For basic, it might be in the spellbook.

Hmmm, I wondered if that were the case. but my bat definately has the special not the basic :S then again perhaps that's why every twink and their mother seems to use them?
Either way, thanks for the clarification on that Taluwen I've not levelled a lowbie hunter in a looooong time, to used to playing at cap :p

Unless the bug has been fixed... bats get their ability at L.19, and I don't think you can add anything to a pet bar til L.20+ now... (I think)

You can get to Azuremyst as a L.19 Horde, but you have to cross the ocean (swimming) at a specific spot... you will die, but will be able to make it over the rest of the way when you goto retrieve your body.

Getting on the Azuremyst boat as a goblin is easy (rocket jump after a jump straight up from a rock near the dock... that will get you on the dock), but as any other race you will have to die and rez on the dock... which will require another corpse run over the ocean...

Unless you can get someone to fly you over on a two-seat flying mount.

Actually, bats get their special a lot earlier than this. However, Bats get Screech... and no bite. As said above, it's almost definitely a bug; they *should* be getting Bite and no Screech.

For the easiest way, is it still possible to die on the dock and spirit-res below decks when the boat arrives? That used to be the prefered way of getting there, I know.

I can confirm that bats have their special ability from the start. At level 11, I tamed Ressan (who's level 11) and a vampiric duskbat (who was only level 9) and they both had Sonic Blast. But neither had Bite. They only got that at level 20.

It's been this way since Cata hit. I don't know why Blizzard doesn't fix it. Dragonhawks even start out with both Bite and Fire Breath (also the case for the Blood Elf starter pet).

you will need to make a macro for your bars in order to have a convenient way to use the ability. hope that helps!

as for getting to the draenei starting zone, i believe i read somewhere about being killed on the ship and standing as a ghost on the water in front of it, because it pushes you when it starts moving. i have not gotten the death ravager on my horde twink yet but when i do i'll post here.

I did the Horde to Azuremyst the other day. I ran my lvl 18 troll through to the part near Lor'danal where non-fatique strikes out the furthest. It took me two corpse runs to get to Teldrassil's safe waters. I then swam around the edge of the tree until I found the boat to Azuremyst. I got on the boat and jumped up onto the bit at the front that had me above the guards. They didn't aggro etc on me at all. I then jumped off and swam around to avoid the npc's at the dock. Easy as.

Edit: I should add that getting on the dock was easy. There is some rocks against it and I just jumped up those and waltzed onto the dock. No guards.
