My first poll here on the forums. And revoting's allowed if minds are changed.

I still can't believe this happened to me.

None of my other hunters have ever been as lucky as Rhilla has been.

This morning, I came to the Eastern Kingdoms to look for Deathmaw, and the only way I know of how to get there is from the Badlands. So, I flew to dragon Mouth and who do I see on my minimap but none other than Broken Tooth's dot. silly sleepy kitty. I went over to wave to him before I thought "What the hell, let's see if Barnabus is up. I'll wave to him too if he is."

I went to Agmond's end and lo and behold, Barnabus was up... and I ended up walking out of the Badlands with him by my side because deep down, I still want to give him (well, her now) another chance to hopefully and finally click with a hunter of mine that she's meant to be with. I named her Redmoon then reluctantly stabled her before heading through the Searing Gorge, grabbing flightpaths along the way, before getting to the Burning Steppes and grabbing any flightpath I came across there, too before I did a few sweeps for Deathmaw.

He wasn't up so I switched over to Shadow Council for Toph's dailies with my best friend, and when we finished, I switched back over to look for Deathmaw again, and I nearly ended up crashing into him as I was running for my life through the black dragonkin. @_@; I stopped, hit feign death to drop aggro, then when I got up, Deathmaw decided he wanted to come say hello. I barely had enough time to drop a freeze trap and to hit tame. I named him Teo, after my second favorite minor character from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Now, I have a history with both of these worgs, hence why I ended up taming them both. It's not just about looks for me. I've had these two both on two other hunters, both of who I eventually ended up deleting because they both became hard for me to play anymore. Even though Barnabus didn't really click back then, I still loved him and used him, and I loved Deathmaw back when he was just a solid black worg and used him a lot as well. Even if they end up taking away the cute click-on growling, I'll always love him because, well, he's Deathmaw!

Here's a bit more in depth history with these two:

Barnabus - Ever since I learned about him here on Petopia back in vanilla, I spent /years/ looking for him on my original hunter, an Orc named Tetsuka, and never found him. She ended up with Old Cliff Jumper and, later on, Deathmaw. I later ended up literally tripping over Barnabus on a night elf huntress I was leveling on Arygos for a while with my boyfriend and his siblings, but only kept him for a short while because trying to get him caught up to her was too much work back then. Sometime later, while leveling a tauren huntress on my main realm, I tripped over Barnabus yet a second time, and this was when pets were five levels under hunters, so I knew it would be easier to get him caught up. Both times I had him before, his name was Willow.

Deathmaw - I never had him when some rares had special quirks. I'd gotten him on Tetsuka after pets were normalized because I liked his name and the idea of a rare black worg. I spent only a few days searching for him, and when I finally found him, he quite literally bit me on the bum because he'd been right behind me when I'd logged in to check. I kept him for a while and while he was with Tetsuka, his name was Sid. He ended up released for room in favor of a cobra from Zul'Gurub, but I missed him yet, whenever I'd go back to look, he was never there. Tetsuka ended up pushed to the side eventually. Then, when the stables were increased to 25, I went out to get him back so Tetsuka could have her buddy again, and he was there waiting for her. Shortly after, I quite literally tripped over him on my tauren, and tamed him since I had room and because she was my Crazy Wolf Lady. With her, his name was Shep.

Unfortunately, I deleted Tetsuka a short while ago because I felt that it was finally time to retire her, and I just couldn't play her no matter how much I tried to. The night elf and the tauren were both also deleted because they were both quite unlucky for me and I couldn't play either because of this.

Who should I keep? Redmoon or Teo? Or both?

I would keep both
Seems you have history with both, so one or the other might get jealous if you let one go :p

Keep them both. I have Old Cliff Jumper and Deathmaw. It just depends on my mood which one I feel like using!

I would keep both, but if you decide you're not clicking with one or the other for whatever reason, don't let their rare tag hold you back. Barnabus and Deathmaw can both be found fairly easily if you sit down and camp for them.

As for your prior history with both, I let my Vargul Blighthound go a while back and wrote it off as having Veeka release him back into the wild. I retamed him not too long ago - I guess he was just lonely. But pets can and do come back. They are - for the most part - free to come and go as they please, imo, and if the one you don't click with decides that they'd rather go back to their family/territory, well, that's their decision, but they know you'll always be there for them if they need you. c:

Thanks, guys! I edited the post with more in depth history of my past times with these two for those who end up reading this post. I'm going to keep both of them and see who I end up clicking with more. I love these two worgs (and Old Clif Jumper, too! *hugs him*) and I hope that I'll be able to keep them both and not have to let either of them go. And Veeka, I'm so sorry that I ended up taming Barnabus so late after that day when you'd gone to all that trouble for me.

I admit that at first, I was a little upset about Deathmaw's makeover since he was with me for so long as the solid black worg, but now I don't mind at all. He still has his stunning blue eyes, and for that, I'm glad about.

It's absolutely fine. :P I'm sorry I couldn't hold him long enough - the red-on-red-on-red color scheme of the Badlands at night was chewing at my sanity. I'm glad you got him eventually, at any rate! Maybe I'll try that pet holding thing with pets you're not 20+ levels away from being able to tame. xD

I didn't think you'd do that, honestly. @_@ And thank you, I'm currently running with both puppies in my active slots as we go finish up Eastern Plaguelands, which I'd forgotten about in my haste to go get Hell-Hoot and Rak'shiri last night. >_>; And yeah, but I'd like to try that again sometime! Luckily, I'm only two levels away from Rex Ashil rather than over twenty. I'm going to be letting some pets I never get around to leveling go, though since, barring the two locked slots, Ril's stables filled up pretty quickly what with the uber insane luck she's been having with everyone I go looking for actually being right there with next to no wait time for once. o_o;

i /really/ wish we were allowed to have more than five pets on hand at all times, honestly. As I've told my best friend: this is worse than Pokémon for this reason. So many I want to keep with me all the time! I hate leaving my pets in the stables, but I just become so absorbed in leveling or I end up in a place where there's no stable master for miles around. I'd love to see the return of call stable.

Your sig is awesome. And believe me, if I had it my way and there were endless stable slots, I'd get every cat and worg (my favorite wolf family model by a mile!) out there because I love them so much.
