Now I understand why I haven't been able to tame him -.-

Four days now and still have only crossed paths with Madexx once; of course when I found him he was already dead.

Any leads or suggestions to getting this guy? I have been on about every part of the day from early morning as 5am to 2pm. >.<

Would help if I had a 310% as I am stuck with 280%.

The best you can do is find a spawn timer. And sit there. And camp. Its really mind wracking but all you can do really considering that area is a highly populated zone with the mining/herbing/digging/questing.
Uh.. just keep doing circles or have a friend or two sit at different locations and call out.
Not much to be done really, some people (like him) would take pride in killing a huge scorpion with a silverdragon. Sigh

Best of luck dear. Best you can do is come back in 6 hours after you see him dead or tamed. Then just camp away...

Or, as far as my luck went, I got both mine in the very early hours of the morning, both around 3-4 am. There's usualy noone around during that time, so chances of him getting killed are very slim.

Meh, the guy was just being a jerk/troll even if he says he wasn't... You can't tell me if someone was offering 1000g in General Chat for Madexx and the guy was getting ready to kill him... that he would just kill him for a 25g vendor item.

The bad part of Cataclysm rares are that they are shown as rares, and people think they will drop blue items or mounts.

And really... four days without seeing Madexx? I have been looking for the green one since mid-December and have seen many of the other colors, but the longest dry spell I went through without seeing any at all was 21 days. Don't be upset about 4 days... be upset when you hit 21 days and you haven't even seen a dead one.

Just make sure when you are camping that you are constantly on the move, and never say to yourself, "I am not leaving til I get Madexx." Because like... if you are on the east spawn point Madexx could spawn on the west spawn point and be tamed/skinned before you even make it over there... even on a 310% mount. People can easily tame him and be back in the air before you even know that he was there.

I hate people like that. And you know what? I would bet if someone had the TLPD, and happened to see it, they might try to find someone. Maybe not in general- probably a buddy, but still. Good luck on your Madexx hunt!

That sucks, though should be noted the "No naming No shaming" rule.....so might wanna fix your post.

If I saw him again, you can damn well bet I'd call out to someone about it. If none of my friends were on, I'd totally be up in general chat, just to see what happened.

But back to the topic at hand, good luck on your hunt, he's a right nasty buggy to try and nab :/

Yeah, his post just really made my blood boil because its sad seeing a Hunter (Alliance or Horde) being robbed of a rare tame because some #@#@!#! decided hey why not.

On the other hand...there are some people out for revenge maybe because in the past a Hunter rolled need on Tyrannical Beheader so they feel its 'even'.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand, thanks guys

I haven't quite hit 21 days (I could say for Time Proto >.> ) but yeah, its a real bugger this guy happens to be in a heavily quested area >_< (Thanks Blizzard... )

From what I'm gathering, it seems 3-5am is a good time to hunt. I will find out

Finally! I got Madexx on Farstriders at 10:13pm! Red color. Found on the N of Moon from that Obelisk of the Moon site.

^-- This. I assume that the person is just a childish troll seeking for attention.

If I ever run into someone who'd rather kill a rare under me out of spite, than take the offered thousand gold, well. Their loss. And I bet they'd feel extremely stupid afterwards. I can always go after the rare some other time.
