So now they've created a second dragon turtle model which uses the same set of skins as the other. The original is now the "Epic" model, which with fins on the neck, leg and tail, and a spikier shell. The new one is now the regular model and lacks these things, but is overall quite similar. I'd be interested to see how many (perhaps all?) of the common dragon turtles become the regular, non-finned model now, and the epics are left for rares or something? Not sure.

Anyway, adding all the shots for the regular model so I can keep the list up to date.

Huh, interesting!

I think the variety is great, I just hope that every colour is available in each of the model types. I'm dying to get my red dragon turtle with the black shell, but I really want it to be the spiky version.

Yeah, same. They've doubled the "looks" with some simple model alterations, but I really hope they make all of them available. I imagine Noah would try to :)

I'll make a note of this over on 'cookie's thread so people know to pay extra attention when reporting turtles, so we know which model is being used.

sadly the pre existing gyreworms of deepholm retain their elemental status. but hopefully that will change. ever since cataclysm beta i wanted a gyreworm but at the last minute blizz turned em into elementals and thus untameable. I always was upset that we got shale spiders and the firelands spiders which are clearly elementals and gyreworms got shafted.
also i hope that hydras become tameable very soon its the thing im anticipating in each new beta build

Unfortunately I wouldn't get my hopes up too quickly about the beast gyreworm. They're in an area where there are other NPCs that are misclassified as well.. like fey dragons and humanoid model mantids classed as beasts (from memory). I'm hoping the gyreworm will stay a beast, but I'm trying not to get my heart set on it.

not sure if these could even possibly be beasts but there yet another new yeti/wendigo variation coming in mists. Id really love a spirit version of it to be a gorilla spirit beast but they might be humanoids.

They seem to be undecided on that style of yeti. It's basically a new model variant on the beastly (knuckle walking) yeti style from the old world. A number of those have remained beasts in the game (like Bigfist), but I think all the original (upright) yeti are all classed as humanoids now.

Since they're both "yeti" I suspect we wouldn't see them tameable even if they remain beasts. They could remain beasts and be treated like boss fire spiders, etc. I'm not sure :) I'll try to bring it up with Noah when he's not already deluged with stuff ;)

It could be like how some protodrakes where classed as beasts for along time. Long enough for people on this site to think they where beasts

that sounds good wain. be sure to let noah know that since they share skeletons with gorillas that that could be a good family for them if they become tameable beasts. Honestly gorillas do need more skins.....also ask noah if blizzard plans to give us the cyborg gorillas because that skin would be really cool to tame.

also now that cranes and other beasts seem to have families i wonder if we will be seeing tameable forms of the crane god and tiger god skins.

Damn it! How did I miss the basilisk images here before I took my own for the site? Although amusingly our Outland basilisks are almost the same. There just aren't many poses for those guys.

On the other hand, I cheated and only used one crest color for the blue/jade crested versions. So once again Wain has surpassed me. :)

i really do miss the pose variation on petopia mania. now every new thing is more uniform and less special. really think you should start doing the dynamic poses for each skin. but thats just my two cents.

are the gyreworms in pandaria still classed as beasts? if they still are then i can still dream of a gyreworm pet!(if gyreworms become tameable id hope blizzard would put the unused purple ones in game as well)

That's all my fault. For my lists, where I'm documenting things by colour/appearance, I tend to make the beast strike a pose (damn, now I'm going to have Madonna in my head all day), and just cycle through the colours and take a new screenshot. Mania's been using them since they're already available.

They also do show the differences in colour variation that way, even if the page looks a bit more boring and uniform.
