I am lvling up a hunter alt and she has a goldish/red theme going on.
Here she is:

I use the orange tiger, queen tiger striped devilsaur, be starter dragonhawk
First I am wondering if the dragonhawk is useful as a pet for anything?
Secondly I need a tank pet. I would love Terrorpene- but my hunter is lvl 70 & I need to get lucky too lol
There is a red warpstalker that looks good. Do they make good tanks?
Thanks!

We have a pets by color thread here: http://forums.wow-petopia.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=12421
The dragonhawk buff is very useful in dungeons where you don't have anyone else that can give the same magic debuff (moonkins, warlocks, and unholy dks). For soloing maybe not as much unless you are survival.
You could go with a normal red turtle for now until you get Terrorpene. Warp stalkers don't have the best tanking special ability, but any tenacity pet can make a good tank.

A rare visitor to this forum now that I don't play WoW anymore, but forever a Petopian.

I wouldn't worry too much about having the 'right' pet while you're leveling; if it makes you happy, that's the important thing.
Warp stalkers slow ability can be nice for a tank pet, helps keep them on their target.
