well, to be fair, you're looking at a new item with the new stat distribution compairing it to the old item with the old stat distribution. What does- wait, the 78 is ilvl 279? Okay yeah that is messed up. I was going to ask what the icc stuff looks like under the new rules, but if something 2 levels lower is over 20 ilvls higher then it's not even a contest.

Oh, and as a general guideline, my BT/Hyjal gear lasted me to my mid-70s, which was when I started replacing it. Depending on the itemization of greens and blues, your epics may last you longer than you think. But don't get TOO attached to them; we only have five levels to gain in this expansion, so the entire system may change.

main reason why i never go crazy on trying to get endgame loot, it gets replaced far to easily in next expansions. However, like what was pointed out, the gear is going to be getting re-vamp'd, so until that patch/expansion comes out, cant really compare them yet.

But i did (on my druid) keep my lv 70 pvp gear all the way to lv 80 before I replaced it cuz, whats the point in even trying to replace gear (unless by quest reward) when your going to be doing a major overhaul at the lv cap. And since this expansion is only 5 more levels...I am sure lv 80 icc gear will make it to lv 85 dungeons.

Blizard has stated that everything is going to shoot through the roof in those five levels, and that by the time you reach level cap, you'll have probably replaced all of your old gear. All of it. Soooo, yeah. Hope you're not to fond of anything!

Going slightly off-topic... I always hoped they'd add slingshots as hunter weapons, and they'd use bullets. Two types of weapons using arrows, two using bullets.

But since ammo is going away, it doesn't really matter.

Many of, if not all of your current Hunter's weapons will have their stats changed once Cat goes live due to the removal of ArP and Int from them. I'm certain that since this is only the 2nd or 3rd beta patch that the full re-itemization hasn't taken place.

This is simply not so. Greens are never as well-itemized and epics, even if the base stats are higher, simply because the distribution of points (and occasional set bonuses) are better.

The greens are about Ulduar/Trial of Champion level.
