Full Silithid Ant List & Info

Unread post by Acherontia »

So, in 4.1, the Silithid "ant" model will be tameable. As per Wain's request in the PTR Request Line thread, I got info on all of the individual mobs. I figure the list is worth its own thread for ease of finding/listing them on the site in the future.

Key: Name (Level range according to Wowhead, Subzone: Zone) *Notes*

4.1 Silithid Ant Tameables:

Image
Copper
Gorishi Worker (51-52, The Slithering Scar: Un'goro Crater)
Hive'Zora Hive Sister (55-60, Hive'Zora: Silithus) *Did not see any 57+ mobs*
Hive'Zora Waywatcher (55-59, Hive'Zora: Silithus) *Did not see any 57+ mobs*

Image
Tan
Zukk'ash Worker (38-45, The Writhing Deep: Feralas) *Did not see any 40+ mobs*
Vekniss Drone (60, Temple of Ahn'Qiraj)
Vekniss Hatchling (60, Temple of Ahn'Qiraj)

Image
Pink
Centipaar Worker (47-49, The Noxious Lair: Tanaris)
Hive'Regal Slavemaker (55-60, Hive'Regal: Silithus) *Did not see any 57+ mobs*
Zukk'ash Tunneler (38-46, The Writhing Deep: Feralas) *Did not see any 40+ mobs*
Hive'Zara Collector (60, Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj)

Image
Blue-green
Hazzali Worker (46-48, The Gaping Chasm: Tanaris)
Hive'Ashi Defender (55-59, Hive'Ashi: Silithus) * Did not see 57+ mobs*
Vekniss Soldier (61, Temple of Ahn'Qiraj)
Hive'Zara Hatchling (60, Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj)
Hive'Zara Drone (60, Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj)

Notes:

* For each mob, I tamed them, checked to be sure they had the correct talent trees, and dismissed/recalled a few times to be sure they are stable colors.
* There are no color changers.
* They are all now the correct size when tamed (previously one model was tiny after taming).
* They still show quite low in the Character Pane (pet pane).
* I believe that the Wowhead level listing is also listing pre-Cataclysm levels, so I've included both level ranges here.

* There are two mobs NOT listed, because both require a quest to summon:

- Silithid Swarmer
- Arakis <Hive'Zora Overlord>

* There is also one Silithid Ant which is not tameable: the level 1 Nerub'ar Scarab, a neutral Borean Tundra mob classed as Undead.
* Some of the Ruins (20-man) and Temple (40-man) Ahn'Qiraj mobs are Elite.

Shame the Tan one will be common - granted I've not bumped into another hunter (so far) who has one.

I actually wouldn't think so. Likely *less* common now that other colors can be tamed. A lot of people have it because it was something no one else could get. I.E. a 'glitch pet'. Once everyone else can get them, some people will drop them because they're not unique any more, and others will drop them because they like other colors better. Getting one at all requires a quest, and people may not really care enough about it to want to get said quest.

Yes, I think there will be less tan ant hunter pets after the patch. It will still be the rarest ant, only being found in one location, other than ones that are in dungeons or spawned. Personally, I'll be changing my tan ant out for a copper ant.

I stand corrected. I thought that the 'Swarmer' tan could only be gotten by quest or by AQ. :) My bad!

Still, the point about why most people will want others stands. I don't think the tans will be that common when there's a variety of choice and less need to have your 'glitch pet'.

I went to do the quest that summoned the creature on 4.1, but the quest... has changed considerably. This bug is no longer summoned at all. So I'd say that he will be forever unsummonable, and removed in the patch.

For the record, there were reports about the Hazzali Worker being smaller than others. When I tamed it, it scaled normally.

Yes, I'm the same way on my main with a copper/brown silithid ant/wasp/beetle team. :) One of my alts is going to have a pink team, but she's not quite high enough level for exotics. Besides, I think she'll actually tame Ainamiss instead of the pink ant.

Yeah, it's in the Notes of that post--it was already changed by the time I made it :P Noah's on top of things
