How To Make Your Pet Follow Players.

Unread post by Wassa »

1) Put your pet on passive.
2) Find a victi-errr... player.
3) Use move-to command. Make sure the point you move your pet to is in range of the player.
4) Use Master's Call on the player as your pet is running to its location. If done right, your pet will follow the player until they go out of range or you mount up. Pets will even follow rogues and druids while stealthed/prowled.

Since you need to use Master's Call for this, it will only work on friendly players, so no having your pets follow enemy players for an advantage in PvP. However, do this trick before you duel a friendly rogue/feral druid and they will probably hate you.

Might also be useful with having a chimera follow your main tank/melee dps for aoe situations, but having your pet attack will break the follow, so the chimera must be kept on passive and use Froststorm Breath from a macro.

No, I did not find this out myself. I read it on another forum. Thought I would share it here.

Special thanks to the random DK I used this trick on and was running around in circles trying to get a huge core hound away from him, hehe.

Oh I can't wait to go home and try this :D
I always used the move to macro to have my pets stalk... er... follow my friends, but this will make it so much easier and a lot mor amusing ;3

Sick! I have a rogue friend who I always beat in duels even though she's always much more geared than me (she always has Conquest gear and I always have Honor gear). I just use a Bird of Prey to disarm her once she pops out of stealth. Now, I can just have it track her before the fight starts so I don't need to risk an opening stun from her.

Haha, this really does stick when you use it. Last night I used it on a few of my raid friends while we were in between fights. Someone took a portal to Orgrimmar quickly, and Skorn sat waiting beside the portal. When we summoned him back Skorn snapped right back to him, lol.

This is awesome! Thanks so much for posting it :D I tried it out on my friend and my Solix, Rush, was chasing him around stormwind until my friend took a BG queue. Then I played a new game called "find my own lost spider" hahaha :b. next time I think I will put Terrorpene on a random player :D

Found out I had trouble getting this to work on a friend that was PvP flagged. Once he unflagged Hahadori was chasing him around. Might be the problem you had Zuilu?

As Wassa mentioned, it won't work if you use it on a flagged player while you are unflagged; however, if you are flagged it seems to work on both flagged and unflagged players.

It also works on friendly NPCs, as several patrolling Orgrimmar grunts can attest.

I discovered this a few weeks ago ^_^ quite fun to watch people confusedly target the giant devilsaur squishing them wherever they go.

You don't need to put them on passive though.

I'm wondering whether there might be some use for this in a worm AOE section. Worm on passive, follow Bladestorming warrior, FOK rogue, or some other AOE'er that needs to get into the thick of things, and be able to easily ensure your worm gets right into the middle of the AOE pack before hitting 'burrow'.
Come see Kurasu's stables!

I just put that step on there as when your pet attacks, it breaks the follow. Just in case you get hit for some reason.
