I'm installing Alpha as I write. Will see what I can find.

I'll explore for a bit then hopefully (if it works) start taking model shots and classifying them on Petopia.

I'm positive I won't get alpha. Don't see it yet, and I've not been blessed enough to do one at all. Really sucks because I love searching for issues. It's always a treasure hunt. Oh well, guess I'm gonna wait til beta.

UNACCEPTABLE! I didn't get in alpha, so I can't fight to call them Roothorns.

The Whiptails' abilities, which confirms that it is Exotic. It sounds like the Whiptail is meant to be a WoW version of a Displacer Beast.

Serrated Strike (New) The Whiptail strikes out with magic laden tails, applying Mortal Wounds. [ability_criticalstrike] Mortal Wounds Grievously wounds the target, reducing the effectiveness of any healing received for 10 sec. Special Ability. Special Ability. Melee range. Instant. 6 sec cooldown.

Shadow Jump (New) The Whiptail steps through the shadows and pounces on their prey, teleporting behind them. Reduces the target's movement by 80% for 1 sec. Special Ability. Special Ability. 30 yd range. Instant. 40 sec cooldown.

Wait, it's basically an old warp stalker with a busted CC, instant gap closer, AND a mortal wounds effect? As cool as that is, that's pretty busted when you compare it to other pets. That's totally getting nerfed at some point.

At least at this point, Plant Beasts aren't their own separate family or classification, as far as I can tell. It might be that the one plant raptor seen in that video just was misclassified as Elemental.

It wasn't just the saptor. The birds and the tyrannosaptor were also elemental on mouseover, at least in the wowcrendor video.

I am so going to cry if all the neat beasts are elementals AGAIN and something we never get to tame or have to wait for 6 months to get. :( Any sign of the Shadowland raid bosses being tameable yet?

It is way too early for that at this point. If they are made tamable, it likely won't be until Beta, I'm guessing.

At this point, the only new family are Whiptails. Maybe they have plans for another family, but nothing indicates that yet.

Kinda sucks I have to use a bloody VPN now to view the site.
Anyway, I'm just hoping we get cool plant dinosaurs. they're right up my alley.

Yeah it's way too early. It's only day two, so give it time. Taming passes are always late. We just need to sit here, (im)patiently waiting as always. Plant dinos are all but confirmed unless that trailer outright lied to us, so have hope.

The "cat" form for Haranir is confirmed to be a wolverine. Their travel form is based-off of a sable.

The new reps: The Farstriders, the Amani Tribe, the Hara'ti (Haranir), and The Singularity.

I'm pretty sure at least saptors are going to be tameable, which means either they'll be raptors or there'll be a special family for them. But at this stage I have a feeling that whiptails are our only new family for 12.0 so I expect they'll be raptors.

Not impossible they'll remain elementals (in the raptor family) and we'll have to earn some tome of taming plant beasts but that's pure speculation on my part and I'm basing it on nothing.

I agree. It is very early and them and other plant beasts being Elementals could easily be changed. Besides, there aren't any plant beasts that we've seen that wouldn't fit into an existing family.

Assuming that there aren't any special ones, there are six variants of mana wyrms.

Dang it, I guess no whiptails for me. But I’m happy to see those new models with good quality. I agree, roothorns should have been the name for the “grove crawlers”. They aren’t a type of bug or grounded lizard anyway. In my point of view, I don’t need a whiptail when i could just hold two weapons and go full rexxar. Odd how the updated lynx model is the wild version of the night elf cat form, it looks nice but they could of made them look a little different, they are basically the primal bear 2.0, hawkstrider, I must have it in my collection, I waited over 13 years for a wild hawkstrider to exist

God I can't find where those models were posted, and if there are more. Wowhead not being on the ball like normal is a letdown. I'm way too hyped for new models after seeing my favorite cat get a much deserved upgrade. As for it being a recolor of a druid cat form, that's always been the case; the original lynxes were recolors of the classic Nelf cat form, and I loved them for that. Now they match the updated models, which is incredible. It's what I've been asking for for so long, ever since seeing the unused Desert Lion NPC. That was just the old texture slapped on to a new model (which I would've been fine with), but they went above and beyond and gave it an entirely new texture and everything.

Wowhead only got access to the database a few hours ago with the rest of us, so they're doing what they can.

Apparently I was right about the plant elementals, though I honestly had no idea.

I just came across this Lightbloom Hydra that is flagged tameable in the Hydra family, although it's an Elemental. If you try to tame it you get the error: "You do not know how to tame Florafaun".

So looks like there's a new special class of Florafaun pets, which crosses families, that we'll need to know a special trick to tame. Hmmm... :/

Oh my god I am gonna [redacted] because I'm so happy right now. I have a feeling it's related to Haronir, so maybe another awful rep grind like the dragonkin book. Or preferably, just a quick unlock when you get Haronir as a race. PLEASE DEAR GOD LET IT BE EASY, I WANT MY PLANT HYDRAS SO BAD RIGHT NOW.
