Drezix, my Ironhide Devilsaur, was my very first exotic pet. I decided I had to have a Devilsaur as soon as I got the talent to tame one, and so I went down into Un'Goro, intent to tame the first one I came upon. Instead, Drezix found me.

Haha, thanks :)

And that's definitely Drezix' personality, as petemote confirms!

I'm still not sure if Reg has him tamed, or if Drez just likes following the elf around for the free food, and the fact that Reg actually believes that HE'S in charge...

Well, here's a newly convinced Devilsaur fan checking in!

I was convinced I only liked the black / aqua skin, and I tamed one several times on my Troll huntress. For some reason, they just wouldn't "click". I never got attached to the Devilsaur and kept taking them back to Un'goro to let them go.

Yesterday, I found I had one stable slot left (til the patch, anyways) on my Night Elf huntress. I honestly didn't think a Devilsaur would fit in with her background, her personality, or her style. Bored while waiting for Heroics to pop, I went down to Un'goro and decided to try one of the other skins I had utterly refused to look at before. In her T9/T10 mixed gear, I thought the brown / red would look quite feral and match visually.

Not only does my newest pet look amazing next to her, I absolutely ADORE the Devilsaur! She VERY quickly took on a personality of her own- eager, bloodthirsty, and loyal to a fault. Considering the Devilsaur's great love of humour, Etona gave her a silly name to reflect that- OmNomNom, "Nommy" for short.

I am now officially a Devilsaur Fan!

The story behind my Dionysius (King Krush) is kind of a neat one. First of all, ever since I found out about Krush (from Petopia, of course), I desperately wanted him. I have had a campaign going since January, awarding 1k gold and a primordial saronite to anyone who found him and tipped me off. Everyone on the server knew I was after him, and every time I'd log on people who I didn't even recognize would whisper me in swarms asking "Did you tame him yet?" It was always heartbreaking to repeat the same dull response: "No, not yet. :["

I won't go into TOO much detail on my failures, but there were many, MANY unsuccessful attempts, and two For the Hordes organized strictly for revenge. I had Krush killed out from under me five times, once even during the tame, when he was tagged on me! >.< I went through a period where I tried to convince myself that it was stupid to want an in-game pet so badly. I stopped camping Sholazar Basin, and instead went out and tamed a white dino from Un'Goro who I never really clicked with.

About a week and a half ago I got into one of my guild's ICC10 continuations. When I joined the guild almost all of the prominent members already had Kingslayer, so none of them pursued another Lick King kill too seriously. That night, however, the guild leader said he was going to finally get me Kingslayer. I think it was on our fifth attempt that we finally downed LK, and it was an incredible feeling. I felt like a nub at the point when LK has a smidge of health left then kills everyone instantly since I thought we had wiped. The others explained that it was all part of the cinematic and frantically yelled at me not to release. xD

After I got out of ICC it was around 1:30am server. On a whim, I flew over to the Basin, distantly thinking how sick it would be to tame Krush on the same night I got Kingslayer. Needless to say, I about shit myself when I began circling his southern spawn point (thankfully the least frequented one) and NPSscan went off. I began freaking out. In segmented sentences I managed to sputter in gchat that I needed people to get to the Basin IMMEDIATELY. A pally and priest scurried to my aid while I nervously hovered over Krush, ready to tag him should anyone else get too close. Thank god for tracking humanoids.

After many unsuccessful attempts and what seemed like an eternity, I got him. He dinged and shrank and immediately roared viciously and I was so ecstatic. I hurriedly flew to Dal, and everyone who passed was like "Yay! You finally got him!!"

So I got Krush on the same night I got Kingslayer, and I didn't even have to pay anyone (I tried paying my guildies who helped, but they refused). Dionysius has already taken on Halion, and was doing a cool 2.3k DPS with buffs; not too bad for a pet in a 10man. I'm so happy to have gotten him, it's almost like a huge weight off my servers. I'm notorious for cycling through pets (I have owned every spirit beast and have since abandoned all of them), but Dio has a permanent spot in my stable.

Some fun screenies:
Here he is teabagging my guild leader in Ruby Sanctum:

Sorry for this necro. I did a search to see if there was some sort of respawn timer for the Devilsaurs in Un'goro since I made a lap without a sighting. It just seems like you can't find one when you're looking. I saw a thread earlier that made me think that I might want all 4 skins. Though at the very least I can come pick out one for my Worgen in Cata. (Yes, I want another hunter. I want 40 pets.) Well I stumbled upon this.

I remember when I decided to tame King Krush, I just wanted to try out a Devilsaur to try for BM. I leveled this toon specifically to tame Exotics and rares. Once she hit 80, I wanted Loque. And after I got him, I ran with him in any alt run I could. It was always so gratifying to top the meters with a Spirit Beast. (I'm a PuGr.) But I was curious about Devilsaurs. I had never really liked them to be honest. I thought they looked kind of silly. I was all about my cuddly kitties.

The first time I met King Krush, he was killed while I was trying to tame him. I tried to trap him like I had read about for Loque! lol. I hadn't read that he was immune. Regardless a DK took him from me. And I was Krushed. heh. I've never understood people like that. We were the same faction and all. And he never explained why. I'll admit I'm a bit of an emotional girl at times and collapsed on my boyfriend that woke up to fly out his Priest and cried. He was the first rare this toon had seen. After going insane sitting in the Basin most of that day looking for Loque, I was just frazzled. I didn't even really WANT him at that point. I just wanted him since I found him.

The second time I met King Krush was a fellow hunter friend. She and I became good pet friends after I politely asked her about her Worgen. She told me how she did it even though I had already done the quest and couldn't attempt it. I would have at least attempted the tame. I enjoy rares as much as a tough tame sort of pet. Even still I thought he was OK.

I stopped playing my hunter for awhile as I was spending a lot of time on my main working on ICC. It was just too hectic to work on my alts. And then I was lvling up another toon as well. And after an actual game hiatus, I came back to my hunter and fiddled around. I could pick her up out of the blue and wreck raids. It was extremely gratifying. And then I got curious about how well I'd do with a Devilsaur. I mean I'm doing so well with a Spirit Beast. Imagine a Devilsaur, right? And I knew the exact one for me. At the time no other hunter was playing and using Krush. He never set off my NPCscan in any city. And most of us are suckers for something "unique." Mr. Krush was it for me. Plus after having my first encounter with him, I had a bit of a chip on my shoulder. I mean how embarrassing is it to have your first tick on Frostbitten due to killing King Krush as a BM that was trying to tame him? It just haunted me. So I went out to find him. Still I was just out to tame him just to say that I could.

I recruited a Priest friend and had him camp the Pillar location so I could pat. And we hung out in the Basin for 3 hardcore days. It was only due to my constant General spam that gained me a couple of hunter friends that would help me look when they logged in. And I had one of my new friends invite me to group screaming that he found him. King Krush had spawned with the Rhinos walking from Nesingwary probably 30 seconds after I had flown past the area. After a quick good bye to Mazzranache and several unsuccessful tames, he shrunk down in front of me. The actual tame was sans any haste beyond what was on my gear. I told my boyfriend all along that I'd like just raid with him since I wasn't really that fond of Devilsaurs, and I loved Loque so much.

But something happened the first time I ran a dungeon with him. It was every time he'd walk back to me after a pull. He looked so pleased with himself. It was like, "Look what I did, Bundia! Aren't you so proud?!" And he'd stand next to me so proud. My heart melted. He reminded me of my love for my Felguard on my Lock. I ran Demo back in BC because of my love for my Felguard. You couldn't get me to spec anything else. And from that moment, I just wanted to hug him. And I knew that he was precious. It's so funny to say about a T-Rex.

I currently lead an alt 25m ICC Gold Bid. And I giggled about every pull for weeks. Between the way he attacked and how cute he was after every pull. I just couldn't get enough. He's become kind of our mascot even though he's probably been blamed for a few body pulls on Marrowgar's Trash. A lot of my regulars love him to death.

Well that's my story. I thought I'd share in this thread full of Devilsaur love as I was a convert. Caesar made me a believer. He's so fierce, but in the end of the day, he's my very loving companion.

Is it just me, or is there an amazing attention to detail in the devilsaur models that isn't present in most other families? Maybe it's what makes devilsaurs so lovable and expressive. And they each have different features that really set each model apart, not just a solid bland color used on each one.

For instance, the black devilsaur has these neat little golden details running between each scale, something unique to that model. The white devilsaur has the menacing black teeth, the red devilsaur has the green shading to offset his base color, and Krush's stripes are less apparent than on the other models so that he is just universally obnoxiously green. xD

Not to mention they each have their own beautiful eye color!
No wonder we fall so hard for these big guys. ;]

Yes, I've noticed that, too! In fact, that's one of the main reasons I love devilsaurs. They have some really beautiful detailing and each one is so different from the others. I love the bumpy scales and the shading and color choices and all that.

@Bundia - I know exactly what you mean about the way they carry themselves proudly after a kill. I didn't notice it with my previous Tyrant Devilsaur, Deathclutch, but I immediately picked up on it with King Krush. My Apollyon actually has quite the ego. He is the King of Sholazar and he makes sure everyone knows it! :D

@Tilo - I love that pic. Buka looks like he is thoroughly enjoying the bath. Though it might be a wee bit too small for him? :D
