I hope those things labelled as Sporebats actually STAY as Sporebats...that family's been hurting for something new after the weird decision to turn Shalewings into rays.

Also VERY happy the fungal tripods are getting love! Always loved those!

I'm conflicted on them being sporebats. On one hand, it's absolutely as you've said that they deserve some love (I don't agree with shalewings, those are definitely more like rays). On the other hand, Dragonhawks have also been in a pretty crappy spot for a long time as well, and this expansion is giving them much deserved love too. Sure, sporebats are lacking in model options, but at the same time, cool new dragonhawk with a very wild new look...

I'm okay with either, but I'll have opinions against whatever the outcome is regardless. It's a tough spot since I like both options even if they're both kinda crap as pets (ability-wise, anyway).

Forgive me if this is an easily answerable question for I am new to these forums and hunter in general:

Do we have any idea if those capybara's will be useable as Hunter pets?

We don't yet. Nobody seems to have tried. I did see one beast capybara in a video, but it was by a guy who doesn't stop to look at things in depth. We know Wain got alpha, but he's always busy so he doesn't post much. No clue if anyone else here got in, because nobody has said so otherwise.

Glad to know I’m not crazy about that one, I’m definitely taming that one. I know it’s super girly but it will go well with a tough dual axe wielding orc

Some interesting NPCs that are tamable
Dame Bloodshed retains a jewelry piece after being tamed.
Image

Pongolins, like their RL counterpart, have very long tongues in game
Image

Mandragoras from past xpacs have been flagged as tamable. Not all of them, but some.

Grove Crawlers, at least off the top of my head, use a new rigging.

God that Pangolin looks like he's on at least ten different narcotics with that expression. Good thing it has a long tongue too! As for the lynx, that's pretty neat. Not my cup of tea, but that's still cool that the jewelry is part of the model.

The plant devilsaurs are called Tyrannosaptors.

The new toads are meant to be giant poison dart frogs, based-off of the names of some.

Mandragoras from past xpacs have been flagged as tamable, though the taming pass for them isn't complete.

A better view of the new pink courser.

Some saddled Hawkstriders that use the old model are flagged as tamable. That potentially could change, though (both them using the old model and them being tamable).

I'm already over the moon with tameable hydras, but look at this goober. Tameable as a SERPENT, so Survival isn't left out!

Petalwings will be in the Carrion Bird family.

The Tyrannosaptor, at least currently, is in the raptor family. I suspect that will change, though.

Pangolin, as expected, are in Scalehides.

From a pvp perspective, elemental pets are huge, no? Can't be feared with Scare Beast, can't be affected by undead* stuns... can anything be done about elemental pets? Shaman pets don't last long so I wouldn't assume there's a real counter for those elementals.

I don't think that this has been pointed out here, but the Void Jellies have a face.

Has any one been able to tell if those flower / plant Rhinos are classified as Clefthoof?

I haven't seen any in the database yet. Almost all Beasts in the database currently are ones found in Eversong Forest, since that is the content being tested right now. We might not know for a while what family they are in, since I believe Zul'Aman is the next zone to be tested, if I remember correctly.

As for the serpents, I knew it, the eyes and the tail tip gave it away for me. If the tyrannosaptors stay as raptors I’ll be mega hyped. The jewel head lynx, reminds me of a Persian from Pokémon but red, is now a consideration. As for pangolins, scalehides officially have their first mammal in the family *claps hands*. Ok now I just noticed the serpent has insect legs. Hybrid beast hype

Warlocks can banish them.

Yes! I hadn't noticed the tongues till I got to their model last night but I was glad they thought to add that. They make little sense as scalehides, since they're not reptiles, but I guess it's a matter of fitting them somewhere.

Indeed, she does! And she keeps her awesome name as well, though I'm tempted to call her Wanda.

Ok update from wowhead browsing

- old dreamrunners are getting the horn attack animation, about time

- the “roothorns” are called Chloroceros, and the tameable one I found is tameable as a direhorn. I see it make sense, cuz look at that massive horn

- there are devilsaptors which make sense on wowhead and are tameable as devilsaurs, they use the flarendo boss animations

- crawg things are potatoads, this one is probably reported already

- I found the tameable plant pangolin!! They are called, thornmaws. They are also classed as scalehides, yay!

- fungal dragonhawks are indeed sporebats

- the new hydras are called Trigores

- all the colors of dreamrunners used in eversong, are basically normal colored but without the glow effect

- the snapping lizards are called amazards, they are in the lizard family and use a new rigging, probably the coolest edition to lizard family so far

Wowhead updated even more already? Sheesh.

Good on unicorns for having an appropriate animation. Was always weird that they didn't gore people.
"Chloroceros" roughly translates to "green horn", so... I guess I am okay with this? Too fancy. Roothorn or bust, Blizzard.
Flarendo animation is huge. That's Devilsaur 2.0, and I love it.
Potatoad is the best name from this expansion, period.
Thornmaw is a good name, and hell yeah tameable!
I'm both for and against sporebat, but hell yeah tameable!
Trigore, huh? We already have Trigore at home though!
RIP Wain, having to make new copies of all the dreamrunners with and without glow effects.
