Nobody has once said you aren't allowed to be disappointed in what they're putting out, in fact, many of us defending Blizzard's decision have come out and said we don't care for most of the 8 rares ourselves.

What we're upset about is all the entitleist attitudes that keep springing up demanding that we get all sorts of shiny new pets handed to us on a silver platter because they interpreted some wording different than it was meant.

Again, to repeat myself, there's a huge difference between expressing disappointment in a civilized manner and whining and crying because things didn't go your way.

The only thing I'm disappointed in is all this whining. Really people, you're better than that!

I like the new Gondria and the new Olm, those beam-thingies attached to the wings are awesome, and more spiders is always welcome, my favourite being the red one.

I think the biggest lesson here is how to write patch notes that undersell the content ;)

That's probably the best idea of all! Then no one expects anything. ;)

To quote what I can no longer find..
"8 new rare tamable beasts have been added, each of which provides a unique taming challenge. Will you be the first hunter to tame Deth'tilac, the rarest and most powerful of them all? Players will need to progress through the Hyjal Regrowth and Molten Front daily questing areas in order to unlock access to the full gamut of taming challenges."

It says nothing about unique rares at all. Just that they will be a challenge to tame them. Which is exactly what they are, a severe challenge to tame them.

I actually promote much more of these challenge tames and imagine what would happen if they had not told us it was suppossed to be a challenge? Everyone would be complaining these rares are too hard! So if your up for the challenge tame the one you like, if not atleast the concept is amazing.

And I like alot of these rares myself. Mostly cause they have killed me enough that I have bonded hahaha

They're all right. But the lack of variety is extremely disappointing.

Come on Blizz, would a molten Shale Spider have been that difficult? Or any other beast that doesn't have thirty different skins already, like spiders do?

Granted some people are, but to go out and say "we don't deserve anything anymore" and "I hope blizz scraps this idea" is really unfair.

I think the pets suck. I'll tame the spirit beasts because I have a competition with a friend of mine over who can get them first and I like the challenge of it but that's it. Two of my best friends in the world do graphic work so I know the people at Blizzard do work hard in what they do, but it does not mean I have to like everything or be grateful for everything they throw our way.

The whole point of this thread was for people who were disappointed in the new rares to vent and complain a bit and we can't even get that. People just want to rush to the defense of Blizz and no one seems to have the right to complain or express disappointment. Why can't we be disappointed? Why can't we think these palette swaps of existing models should have been something else? From what I've seen the biggest problem people have is that they think there should have been a greater variety of pet families used in this experiment.

again ill state... great new pets.. grats hunters who actually want them, sorry hunters who dont. meh more cats.... but look a new spirit owl, that is technically unique. that purple spider is sexy... others not so much, im sad they were all spirit beasts and spiders.. other families need love. not just spirit beasts and kittehs (yes im counting them cause the cats are well... cats)

Exactly. We know they can do better and then some. :)

I was hoping for a Spirit Beast doggy (rare or named) with the new Horde Rated BG PvP Mount- http://media.mmo-champion.com/images/ne ... mounts.jpg skin.

And asking for that is not "entitlement", just asking them to branch away from the spirit kitties a bit. Heck, I would take some molten bone "dogs" over these new spiders.

Who says they're completely done with new mobs for 4.2... ? ;)

Well, from what I gather their art dept. is already working at capacity to turn out stuff for Firelands, but of course most of that doesn't pertain to beasts for hunters to tame. And good or bad they decided that fire hawks and hellhounds are too fiery to be hunter pets. So apart from the awesome fire spiders, Noah had to rely on what was already in the database that could fit the fire theme (or a couple for Hyjal), so there's not that many more to choose from. Perhaps there's a couple more things. I guess we'll see :)

Aye, and they DID give us a new model in Ban'thalos--remember the early images of that one? It was difficult to tell what he was!

I'm really disappointed. It's true that they are new pets but...in german we say: "wenn schon, denn schon", it's difficult to translate, but it means "if you are doing something, then do it good".
And spiders? I hate them!!

any new models of pets is good in my eyes. there will always be someone who have yearned to tame those pet, and for those ppl its great. If the looks isnt you, then dont tame them :P but im happy for the many hunters who are extremly happy about these new pets

You know what guys 4.2 isnt over yet until the fat lady sings and we all contionously DC on live like we do on the ptr in Molten drop I mean front

I think there is still a ton of time to tweak things, add things, remove things. Buff spiders health... die in a fire.. who knows. All I am hoping is for some spawns on the US server, right now the spiders hate us.

To be fair, there have been several posters defending the selection of pets that have resorted to name-calling and abusive posts. Just saying, if we're upset with people seeming entitled then we should be equally upset with these other posters.

Both sides have been advised to keep things neutral and impersonal. :)

Yes any shouting/yelling/ name calling will be quickly dealt with. It wont be put up with and I hope we can keep it civil. All in all its just a game, yes its a game some of us (cough) spend more time with then our own family (cough) but its still a game and I dont want to see anytone get hurt over some pivels. Agree to disagree yes but dont take it to far.
