I was just about to go to sleep and I got the gut feeling that Terrorpene was up, he was already cached so I had to use my /tar Terrorpene.. so I head out there and to my amazement there he was just waiting for me. Renamed him to Shellfest.

I then go ahead hearth put my Herbs that I farmed up on AH and got another gut feeling.. This time Sambas.. I head out there and first place I check ::makes NPCScan sound:: he was there! Renamed him to Brownie, after a long time Druid friend of mine. Will include his Screenie too.. Also my stable is here.

Spawned: 930p pst - saturday - SE corner - ysera
timeframe: 930a-1230p saturday---- 15-16hrs.

Seriously had my doubts, cause' frankly I'm doubtful on things like this anyways...

I got misdirection on my corehound, which was taking 10k a tick so he was goin down fast, a little below 50% pop first macro all the drums, elixirs, pop second macro right after which was detterance, potion, & tame, & man I absolutely fail at taking screenshots during the tame of mobs like this, just get so caught up in the "will I will I c'monnnn...." anyways, tame bar read 9.9sec, but got down to 6sec. then boom tamed.

I used: king drums, both fire resist & haste elixir, haste pot, detterance, & I had 35k buffed.

Kinda a feat of strength for me as this'll have been the first difficult tame I 'one shotted'.

Congrats Tilo! I'm glad you got your Terrorpene not too long after I did.

One of my hardest tames - died while the tame finished. xD My gear also isn't the greatest mind you, I just dinged 85 a couple nights ago and havn't done many dungeons.

And I just HAD to get him, I love the new turtle models - I leveled with my Tortolla from 80-85, he never let me die once while questing. So to have his bloodkin as well now... just makes it that much more awesome. =D

This is from like a week ago but I'd been meaning to post this.

I was flying through Hyjal, I don't even remember why, and I flew past the lava pools...what do I see but a moving, glowing island? And then NPC Scan and SilverDragon go off. I already had Terrorpene (posted pics somewhere in this thread) on Kormai and since it's red I don't want him for my alliance hunter. I whisper my friend who had been trying for days to find him, but he'd gotten him like two days before. So I whisper the only other hunter friend I have, who flies as fast as he can and tames it. A few minutes later we're standing still in shock and another hunter flies by and asks when he spawned. I felt so bad for that dude!

I just caught Terrorpene, a little luck and a willing priest goes a long way.At first i tried to tame him alone with the core hound trick but after 10 minutes i knew i needed help.I /whoed hyjal asked a priest if they were interested in making money explained it to them and we began.Even with the haste and my beloved healer whom i don't plan on forgetting so soon, i caught terrorpene.Sadly my heart-racing anxiety-fueled joy was crushed by some healer telling me i stole it from a hunter who tried to tame it 15 or so minutes after i had began trying to do so.Why are people like this?I'm an over sensitive carebear i guess but it really ruined the moment for me.Even more so when i tried to convince the healer otherwise but was told they didn't believe me because they were the child of the hunter who had tried his luck just like i did even if i was there first...

@nightfall grats on your tame firstly, secondly it should've been stated to you as you were going for Terrorpene assuming that other guy wanted? That he wanted him, as you said you got a try in or so in the first 10m, then asked for help then got your tame, that could've been plenty of time for this other hunter to fly in tell you the circumstances & either try himself or let you have.

Just got my Terrorpene on my cenarius hunter, thanks go out to Mr B (name blotted for privacy), for letting me try a second time as I once again flubbed the first try, but I got him second time around & tomorrow I'll be helping out Mr B for his by hanging out at the same spawn I saw mine, & letting him know when I see him so he too can get his own, again thanks Mr B., & finally I can quit camping Cata. rares... ''whew'' now to have some fun!

I tamed Terrorpene a few minutes ago on my server. I finally have him. Took me almost a week. Longest pet I had to wait for.

Oops! I didn't even notice them. I took the pictures out for now and will replace them tomorrow when I can edit them. I'm on my phone right now haha.

I've spent countless hours camping Terrorpene and lost him to other hunters twice. I'm fine with that, but there is this one hunter on my server (opposing faction) who terrorizes me even though he has the pet already....now that is frustrating! If I see that hunter again, s/he better watch out because anytime I see you I'm going to camp you for hours. Sorry for the rant, anyways, I've been camping here today for about 7 and a half hours with no spawn, so hopefully i'll get something soon and have time to tame it.


Edit: It's been changed, sorry about that. I'm using NPC Scan thankfully. Still sitting here, hopefully soon!

Woot! As an update, after 11 hours of sitting there my NPC scan went off and my heart just dropped hahaha. As an ilvl 352 hunter, I didn't use any tricks to tame him and still had 80k hp, so for anyone at level 85 with decent gear its really easy if you can wait it out. Terropene spawned at 8:05 PST on Kil'Jaeden. Happy hunting

I'm currently ten hours into my Terrorpene camp, and going slightly crazy. A few hours ago, I discovered that people recommend bringing fire resistance gear for this tame. I freaked out, thinking "OMG I don't have an Onyxia Scale Cloak!", and then summoned Jeeves in hopes that I had some sort of fire resistance hidden away in my bank. As it turns out, I did. Currently wearing part t1 and part t2 and looking very, very silly.
I even used the wormhole generator once out of boredom, and actually got the "underground" option... Needless to say, I used it and was back at my camping spot five minutes later.

Update on my last post: Finally got him at 07:22 server time, Earthen Ring EU. Camped him since 17:45, took breaks around 18:00 and 19:00 for Ghostcrawler and Karoma, respectively.

Oh my gosh, that is so cool! I remember seeing that as screenshot of the day and bursting out laughing. For some reason, I can hear the big boy (can't remember his name!) yelling something along the lines of, "You listen here whippersnapper! When I was your age..."

First,I just want to say to all the 81 hunters who tamed this awesome turtle:Congragulations!

Secondly,to all the hunters who had to wait for their tame over days and days: I apologize for my story.

my friend and I decided to go to Hyjal to fish up Volatile Fire in the pools there. So,we get there,and my NPCscan goes blaring off,and there he is,lazily walking around the pools of fire,just chillin'. My friend.a Shaman,said.."get him". So I flew down,dismissed Pinky,my shale spider,and started the tame. (I was 85...lol) Ten seconds later,my friend and I went fishing with my new turtle.
It's always been like that with me. After we caught whatever we needed,my friend logged for the night,and I went to Zul'Drak to see if Gondria was up.She was,and I was very lucky to get two rare tames in one night. I then went to the Storm Peaks hoping for a hat trick of taming with Skoll. Nope.lol...someday,that wolf will be mine....just not yet.

Anyway.grats again to all who have this awesome turtle,and GL to all those still hunting!
