But you aren't alone. I see a spider skitter across the floor? I bolt for my flip flop and I don't stop beating the spot where I crush it until it stops twitching.

Okay, Even though I don't like spiders....those are cute! I kind want one as a pet! I think I have those tiny brown fuzzy jumping spiders in my tree actually.

All I can say is this:
"The Spiders, they want me to tap dance. I, I don't wanna tap dance Harry"
"Well you tell those spiders Ron"

My spouse's grandmother got bitten by what was probably a recluse -- it caused a chunk of her leg about the size of a golfball half to necrotize and it had to be cut out. Ugh.
Average spider, though, has much more to be afraid of from us than we from it.

yessss!!!!!!!!
But I found a black widow female once and made my dad come home from work and kill it lol.
I deff would have freaked out if a spider was on my face.
I used to love spiders. Used to collect orb weavers like a weirdo and bring them to school to show my teacher (who loved that kinda of stuff) There also used to be these 2 huge yellow spiders in my back yard. One was male(sam) the other was female (saw them mate then she ate him

been scared of spiders since

)

Ugh. I was reading through all this and was happy that there are no scary spiders where I live, just ticks and occasionally a snake, and then I saw the beetles and jumped in my chair. >.<

Aragog is coming for you.
Also, in a case like that IRL, I'd get out the bug spray and lighter and torch those mo-fo's. That many spiders in one spot is just too much for even me.

More like a stick of dynamite, in my case. You don't want any survivors burrowing into your brain and turning you into a spider mindslave, after all.

I love just about all bugs, insects and arachnids alike (I especially love spiders); oddly enough, the ones that just do me in are the little house centipedes. I really, really hate those things. I'm terrified that they're in my bed waiting to wriggle their way into places they shouldn't be. It's terrible when I'm home alone and find one because I have to kill it, but at the same time, they freak me out so much that I hate to smush them because that means that they have to come into contact with something I'm in contact with and.....ugh. And they're so fast, too.
So, yeah. Eight inch tarantula? Not a problem. Two inch centipede? I might need therapy after. It really makes no sense.
Keep in mind, folks, that about 99% of the time, spiders want nothing to do with us. They will try to flee or hide before they bite (for the most part). I was at a deli outside eating with my family and I looked over and out of the corner of my eye, saw a spider on my shoulder. He surprised me a little, just chilling out there, but I was like, "Oh hey little guy!" And grabbed a napkin, coaxed him onto it, and put him down onto the ground where he crawled away. My grandma made some sort of comment that if that had been her, she'd have had a heart attack. For me, I don't understand how people can fear them when they're so small and for the most part, so timid. But then, I have no right saying that when a little centipede sends me running like a little girl and I have no idea why.
I do love spiders though. My tarantulas are so cute! I have a grammostola rosea named Sedona that is so prissy when it comes to water. When I'm filling her dish, if even one droplet touches her foot she lifts her feet like "ZOMG get it off! Get it off!!!!!"
