BTW - I have the goggles, and spent an hour mining, and haven't seen anything like your pic, so either mining nodes don't show like that, or they are broken for mining.. what kind of node was that supposed to be?

My guess would be that if you have the goggles, I doubt you will see the mist that you see in the picture, you would actually see a node. (hence you haven't seen anything like the pic". If you don't have them in your bag, then you would most likely see the mist in it's stead.

As per the description, you are able to see additional mining and herb nodes with the goggles. Without them, I'm not sure how one would be able to see the difference between a mining node mist, and a herbing node mist... they would probably just all look like.. mist?

I'll have to run around the same areas on a different toon later, and see if I see any mists... of course, if that's the case, like you said, you wouldn't know what it was...

Ran around on another toon, but didn't see any of those... anyone been seeing them?

So Slick and I met up in Jade Forest to confirm that yes, the swirls of mists that we've been seeing are in fact concealing gathering nodes.



That's actually an herb node.

Another note for those of you with tons of crafter alts... You are going to need to level that crafter if you want the good patterns. For LW, all the top armour enhancements are from 3 different reps. I think I'll be content with skinning on my alt.
