Any word on the other zone mounts (ZG tiger/raptor, Anzu, white chicken)? If Anzu is disappearing, I solemnly swear to farm Setthek as much as humanly possible because I want that mount like no tomorrow.

I see no reason for a dungeon it Outland to be affected at all.

It's from Stratholme, undead wing. The final boss, Baron Rivendare, has a chance to drop the mount when killed. It is an old-world (vanilla) dungeon, so no heroic mode. That means you can farm it as many times as the game will allow (I think the shut-off period is 6? 7?). In Cataclysm, if I'm not mistaken, Baron Rivendare is being replaced by a new Baron, so there won't be a mount drop. At least, that's how it looks so far.

I thought they were adding the new baron so the mount would still be there... 0.o
Either way, it's just stupid. We saved that paladin from corruption! You don't run around and do that then, Blizz.

Is baron being replaced by the guy in the chapel?

Hrg....farmed this place all day yesterday, no mount. My friend decided to farm it on another server though, and I was talking to her on AIM, and she got the horse...so at least somebody managed to get him. I was quite excited for her :)

Silinrul's only killed him 8 times but I really, REALLY hope I don't have to kill him too many more, the place is already so tedious...X_X

wait Saturo, so the guy in the chapel that you turn in the one necklace to get extra shineys with becomes corrupted and the new baron? thats neat.

Shouldn't Stratholme be "vanquished" from Argent Dawn yet?

You'd think so by now. I must've cleared the place so many times on my hunter that all you'd need to do is put out the eternal fires and throw some holy water around. There was NOTHING left in that place but me, alive OR dead...

I must be nearing over 300 attempts (I've been smacking him since vanilla) and he still refuses to yield...

Bastard.

Yeah as a Druid there's a few tricks to speed running it which I'm sure others can adapt.

Keep in cat form so you have frequent access to dash (Glyphed if possible but not a must by any means) and stealth from gargoyles as you dodge around mobs. It's way eaiser to run around them it's just sometimes you need stealth due to where a mob has moved.
Hit Starfall just inside the Zigguruts, this makes it less likely to clip those outside while mauling the ones inside. If it's still going when they're all dead, don't be an idiot like I was and wander outside with it active :< Cat Form ftw for negating.
Dash through the roach gate then back up agaisnt it when it comes down for easy hurricane/typhoon action.
When you're at the abomis, use a combonation of starfall/typhoon/Insect swarm/moonfire pulling with trees and trinket on. Much MUCH faster. When trees are down you can hurricane the last group together. Throwing on a Regrowth and doing this in Moonkin is advised.

A general trick though people have missed is when he opens the door from Raam, push past him and smack him in the Slaughterhouse. This saves you waiting eyars for the bloody door to open.... I've cut my run time to about 10 minutes or less doing these things :D Not that it's encouraging him to drop but I think any less wasted time is a good thing, right?

That doesn't glitch the instance? I've heard of people getting stuck in the Slaughterhouse before, though I'm not sure why it happened.

It does IF Raam gets outside as he must die for the Black Soldiers (Skeletons that also come out the Slaughterhouse) to spawn. This is why I say push past him, he aggros you as you run through him and into the Slaughterhouse thus you're both inside when the door shuts. The Skellies spawn just behind the door as well the second Raam drops.

Once they're down you just wander down to Baron and beat him to death with a blunt object for his horse. This does save 5/10 minutes just sitting around being bored, more so when you string run :<
