I don't see it as 'bugging per-say, but simply loosing his adds.
It's a perfectly normal strategy of a hunter to MD and FD, and that's all it is really
Spiritbinder, I do that too, but only as a 'Last resort' type of thing because of the risk of running into another persons lockout.
Normally what I do is I get a friend or a guildy to help me out. I just ask them to join me in a raid group for a moment, log onto an alt, ask them to invite the alt, and then the guildy or friend are free to leave. You stay in a raid group with yourself, and thus are free to explore any raids for as long as you wish without inconveniencing anyone else, or worrying your raid group may get disbanded.

Oh! That's a really good idea!

Spiritbinder wrote: I have been using this little trick above, for quite some time now, but the main problem can getting a raid group. That said, I also have a little trick for that too.
Now I know some people may not like to pvp, however you don't really have to actively participate if you really hate it, just hang around WG for a little. Sign yourself up for the next WG battle, when your called to participate, accept and wait for it to take it's course. One thing about this type of pvp, is that you only group with those on your sever. Which means at the end of WG, and the battle is done, you will actually remain in the raid group until you leave it. Now I normally find, about 80% of the time at least one person logs off, during or after WG and the rest normally end up leaving the group to do their own thing. Quite often leaving you in a raid with only one or two others. Even if everyone leave the raid, if someone has logged off you are actually still in a raid group until they log on and leave group. This can give those whom don't have the ability to get raid groups easily, a way to get one.
What I did for that was just ask a guildie if you can "borrow" them for a few mins. Once they agree, convert to raid and they can quit grp, log off or whatever. You've already created a raid group and you can get in.

Both, although I was able to do both phases with my Devilsaur.

...What?
You people clear the adds? O.o
I run in, settle into the corner with the bosses, MD my tank pet, and volley everything onto him. Then I take the healer to just under 1/2 hp so that if she heals, it's herself. Any time she heals up I pop her back under half. I keep the Cower and Mend Pet up, and have never died doing this. You also do not pull the adds, unless you turn your back to the main room once Thekal is spawned.
I solo Mandokir this way too but it's much more touch-and-go, what with the angrygazeface he does, and the aggro wipe. Attuman's the same--hard fight, but quite doable.
But yeah... why do you clear the adds? I find it faster to just kill the bosses than to clear the adds and try to bug the bosses, especially since the bug well, bugged, more often than not for me

Big Grats on the mount!
So far I've solo'd each of the two bosses (for raptor and tiger) 11 times. No drop yet
I even started solo'ing the two bosses on my dk (only done it once each so far and no drop).
I also started going after Gaza for the polymorph turtle (dk got it to drop the first time and it took my hunter 3 tries before he got that drop).
Being an Alli, I really want the Raptor mount, but looking forward to trying to get both.
One thing to note when your solo'ing with your pet: don't open the skull piles while your near mobs or even just with your pet, as that will turn you against your pet and vice versa. I also skin and while skinning some raptors before making an attempt at the raptor boss, I somehow opened the pile instead of skinning the raptor. Well that brought the guy at the base of the steps running and when he died, of course I got the boss. I had to sacrifice my pet to get away from that one before I could regroup to take him on.
Personally, I find the Tiger boss the easier of the two (and Gaza is very tough to solo, but doable).
After about 7 solo attempts, a fellow hunter joined me for the kills. For the raptor boss, we each took on one (didn't attempt to use the trick). For the Tiger boss, we messed up and got the whole bunch (mind you I had never taken on the others before, didn't read up on them, so didn't realize they all have to die within about 30 seconds of each other or so, maybe even less). It took us a long, long time to down them and only after they had responded a half dozen times, lol. The second phase of the fight was easy with the two of us as it is easy with just one

If you happen to get into that situation, use the 'V' key so you can easily monitor their health and switch up as needed to keep them going down together (something that worked great for my dk -- they only respawned once before I got them down together).
I am trying to attempt it once a week, but sometimes miss it. I definitely want to try and get the two before Cata, since who knows what might change.

Okay, so, silly question probably a no and a HELLS NAW, but I'll ask anyway:
1) Ever see both drop (both the raptor and the tiger) in the same run?
2) For the Raptor, ever see it drop by both bosses in the same run?

I got a thing I do with the tiger boss as well, so you just deal with the priest and not his adds. I leave my pet by the entrance to the area and put him on passive, then I clear out the cubs that run around so they don't cause any agro issues. I line up my pet right so that when I MD to him, the priest can run straight to him without agroing anything else. MD on the pet, shoot the priest with steady shot and arcane shot, so he goes for the pet while the other mobs go for me...then I just FD and they run back, but the priest still goes for the pet. Then I fight him easily by the entrance, when he goes tiger, I just pull him into the lil hallway entrance so he doesn't knockback me or my pet into anything. Made the tiger boss an easy run, even tho the raptor boss is still pretty easy as well, if you sit on the ledge.
