One of the first statements made by the DEVs was for new Spirit Beasts to be tamable, yet none have been added yet.

I'm sure we'll see spirit beasts added in - some may already be in the beta, unfound, and others may be added before it goes live, or in subsequent patches - adding in new singular rares is relatively easy. It's even possible that some of the unused skins we've seen on this site may turn up as new spirit beasts.

Seems unlikely we'll get a non-absurdly-rare SB at this stage, though.

I don't think the spirit beasts have been added yet. If they had, we would have seen the models from data-mining, as with the previous 4 spirit beasts. I don't think there are any unaccounted-for models from the data mining, so, we are likely going to be waiting until at least Cata launch before we see any new spirit beasts.

Agreed. Blizzard isn't going to give us hunters EVERYTHING at once. Almost every major patch in LK added a new SB, so it remains to be seen if Cata will start with one (like LK did with Loque) or if Blizzard's sticking with the patch tradition. But without a new model having been data mined, it seems that Cata won't launch with a new one. My guess is that due to all the massive changes to the world in 4.0.3, we won't actually see a new spirit beast then either. We'll be getting enough other shinies without that too.

I'm still hoping for a last-minute change regarding stags/horses/zevrahs. They did hint at it, it'd be a bit of a cruel blow to not put'em in.

Or at least expand the rhino family. I'd kill to tame clefthoofs and kodos. Giant Fuzzy White Pet Mountain? Hell yes!

Hope they add rare creatures that look like spirit beast, but are either just a reskin of their base form (not requireing BM, having their reskin abilities) or perhaps even having the abilities of another non-BM creature to make them truely unique. Spirit beast are cool and all, but I already have 1 and any more will be nothing more than a different skin taking up space. They could also add Spirit Beasts that function differently than our current Spirit Beast.

Personally, I'd like a visual buff for Spirit Beast that would cause your spirit beast to transform at random to any Spirit Beast you've killed (sinse their achievement kills) or have tamed before (sinse taming them will soon count toward the kill achievement).

I'm hoping and praying for a spirit beast that looks like one of the jackal statues from Uldum. Dark blue, shiny, gold eye markings and a gold collar. Oh, and those ears! <3 Love.
