Grats on the pretties. Ended up getting Loque myself when he came up. Funny thing was that literally around the corner of the hill was Krush. Fun to have both go off at the same time. I was a jerk in that I tamed Loque and used him to take out Krush as the only other hunter in the area was an ally and I was not giving up Krush to them. Got to see Gondria once but was towards the end of wrath and no room in the stable so did kill it. Glad to see you came around on Skoll. He's beautiful (Boy...not girl...God of Thunder (Lightning?) in Japanese myth or one form of him for the look....Raijin) and quite fun to cruise with. Have also gotten Karoma and confused some allies in Tol Barad into thinking a shaman was coming at them using spirit wolves instead of it being a hunter pet. *lol* Have only seen Arct once and that was on my DK. Still sail by when in the area going to Dal or such.

Spirit Beast #5 - Ghostcrawler!

After seeing the absolutely adorable Crabby from Blizz's April Fools Joke, I wanted to get its inspiration for myself. So my boyfriend and I started the search. He's recently been leveling his hunter, Seabaston, up via archeology. It's really quite nice. Seabaston is supposed to be Cerah's husband rp-wise, but due to differences in levels, they haven't really quested together in quite some time.

We got to Vashj'ir, only to find the Abandoned Reef, well, abandoned. Still, it was nice to get out together. Even our seahorses seem to like each other.

Vashj'ir is a visually stunning zone, even in the Abandoned Reef. It's too bad that it has to follow the scientifically proven Video Game Law of Water Levels -- all levels based upon water will be, without exception, a royal pain in the ass to play through (see ex. The Water Temple in The Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time) A cookie to anyone who can name one (1) example that disproves this theory.

Anyway, today while waiting for my heroic dungeon, I thought I'd take a look on my own. Guess who was waiting for me.

They weren't kidding when they called Ghostcrawler's ability "nerf bat" -- he's completely immune to Ice Trap, and nearly killed me during the tame! I think a 40-man raid group would have trouble taking the little bastard down! I was too busy concentrating on keeping my green Orc butt alive to take any screenshots of the tame, but here's the aftermath.

Image

I named him Rhetoric, after one of my areas of study in university -- the art of persuasive language. And believe me, it took some persuading to get him on my team. I kind of wish he kept Nerf Bat as a special ability, but then again, if they let us do that, the battlegrounds would soon be filled with nothing but Beastmaster Hunters and their Ghostcrawlers. It would be cool though, the closest we could get to having Larry the Landshark.

Anyway, Rhetoric is now busily persuading my other pets that he is awesome. And it's working :D

p.s. Could a mod move my topic to "taming stories" now please? Thanks.

I keep having Trials of Atlantis flashbacks when I'm in Vash'jir. The only thing I loathed about DAoC. Between that and the eels, I haven't been back since I finished the quest line up to the instance except to catch Ghostie, who was up when I hit the area.

Thanks for all your ... thanks! :D It's so nice to hear from everyone, almost as nice as taming my pets in the first place.

For my newest entry, I wasn't the only one to get a new pet! My guildies (my boyfriend and sister-in-law), went with me to Naxxramas and each of us tamed a super-cute mini beetle!

It wasn't easy. Even though we're all above lvl 80, we weren't actually concentrating on killing the boss, so we wiped like 3 times before figuring out a strategy to get our beetles -- two of us and our pets stay on the boss while the third aggro'ed the crypt fiend, laid an ice trap right after it died, dismissed our current pets and tamed a beetle. Even when we got the strategy sorted out, we still had to come back a couple more times for us all to get our beetles, but eventually it worked!

Because of the special effort we put into getting our little cuties, they deserve a spot here just as much as any rare. Plus, I'm thrilled I was able to help my guildies!

More info's here, on the fourth page of the Little Beetle That Could thread.

I just love my little Puck! <3 <3 <3

Even Mr. Bigglesworth came to congratuate us!
