I wouldent ask for a non unique skin mobs to be restord thats just un needed. I would only be asking for Any rarespawns that took me days of searching like spirit beasts or king krush and numoroc.

Would it be too horrible to ask for my crocoslime and hydra back? I don't want to abuse the system since I did abandon them willingly (when my brain had a fit of teh dumbs, apparently) but I have regretted it ever since...

Ask for 'em back, you can't retame them. :)

Aaah, I didn't know that. I just thought we all got the patches at the same time... that sucks. Well, we've already been waiting this long, just a little more patience!

And yeah, the only way I would ticket a GM for pets back would be if I had a retired pet that I had abandoned, so Ryna definitely ask.

I would ask for Loqu back if he went MIA from my stables. He is really hard to find. I go mining in the basin alot and I've only ever seen him in the wild 1x after I tamed him. I think I may of been close by when I tried and failed horribly to tame king krush. It could of just the act of me opening my stables to that triggered npc scan to go off.

And if you can't find her before Cata actually hits in December (or possibly patch 4.0.3), THEN you could ask for her to be restored and it would be okay because she's retired.

Lots of people have that problem, you arent the only one! xD

I wont ask for any pets to be restored cause the ones I abandoned are easy to find again. (Snarler, Takk, etc.)

My slime. T^T I really screwed up when I let him go. I had him named Slimer, but I think when I get him back I'll rename him Shinshoku (corrosion).

The only thing I would ask for is if something got deleted during the patch transition (I remember the massive mini-pet and mount problems of 3.0). I would consider that a valid reason for a ticket.

Anything I may have abandoned? No. There's a reason I haven't gone on my Loque hunt yet... I have a stable full of rares and I don't want to run into the situation where I have to make a choice like that. Life is full of choices and consequences.

Even if there's a super nice GM out there who WOULD do it, I wouldn't waste their time with my ticket and such. Personal responsibility.

I only had one pet restored to me, and that was my ghost hydra. I explained to a GM at the time I had ran across loque and in haste abandoned it to tame the spirit beast (at the time was only SB around) with the full intent of retaming the hydra once the dailie came back around.. unfortunately it didn't come back around for a bit and then they patched it under my nose. I dumped my wind serpent that was the only pet I could easily retame in cata and they dumped me back my hydra in that empty slot :3 So I got em and Loque. ^.^

Aside that, I wouldn't ask for a pet to be restored. If a lot of people end up doing such then they may disallow pet restoring PERIOD Unless it was recent and by mistake or some bug.

Yeah I can see it in that case; you abandoned him when you could still reasonably expect to be able to replace him if needed, and whilst Blizzard may not have exactly intended him to be tamable, he still wasn't an "exploit pet" like Garwal... and so to not give him back in that scenario would be to promote the idea that Blizzard wants everyone to tame pets as if every family is going to become untamable tomorrow.

Now if you'd abandoned him after Spirit of Koosu became untamable (especially if it was months afterward), then I'd say you'd be on your own, but again for the circumstances you described I think you deserved to get your pet back, and see this as an affirmation that Blizzard GMs are willing to put some serious thought into even the most unusual requests for help.

Yeah I tossed him when you could still tame em, it was just having to wait for that dailie to come along that had you go out and spawn the three spirits (Hydra being one of em) but that one just didn't want to come around and then they did the patch..

I wasn't aware you COULD ask for a pet back, then three months ago I over heard someone saying they got their slime restored by a GM and went OMG MAYBE and sent in a ticket asking.. sure enough, they gave my hydra back. ;3

But yeah, having a lot of people go out and start asking for past pets they had to be returned to them? Blizz could very well get fed up with it and just stop restoring lost pets. "Oh you abandoned it by mistake? Go out and retame it!" sort of deal.

Yeah. It was tameable when you abandoned it and its no longer tameable, they'll gladly give it back. Otherwise, you're on your own, which is how it should be.

Ah, nevermind. They restored him within 5 minutes of me asking. =X Thanks so much, kind Blizzard employee. I gave them my famous Superman joke as a thank you.
