Cute fact; when you take him under water the volcano dies out. It still emits smoke but the flames dissapere

The only known location of him so far is on the Eastern side of the Sulfuron Spire lava pool. In there he paths in a crescent shape from north to south.

He spawned in the southern tip of the lava pool. As in he physically popped into existence right under me. I had a feeling that was one of his spawn points, so I had been hovering in the southern lava area and occassionally flying up north and back.

Does he spawn in the lava, or the edge of it? Camping as we speak

And does he have a 6 hour respawn rate, as i have read?

He spawns in the lava and stays in the lava. I don't know about his spawn timer, though.

Right in the lava, yes. And I have no idea what his timer is....I've heard 6 hours, but I've camped him for far longer. It seems anywhere between 6 and 24 possibly. x_x

Hit lvl 82 did not feel questing so i had a feeling terrorpene might be there seeing as hes really had to kill and not worth killing
so i took a trip out there and there he was in all his fireness tried the tame and fail when he beat me to the ground seeing hes not an easy killed i
went and tamed a core hound went back used ancient hysteria, with a speed pot, trolls beserking, and i used the corded skeleton key trinket which helped a lot
I tamed him with about 15k hp left and hes been my pet every since for questing hes great for doing instances when the tank dies he takes over
named him Deathshell cause he is the Deathwing of turtles lol

I spent 7 hours farming for him yesterday and got lucky and passed him while playing another character today. Talk about luck.

I had to get a healer to come help me due to my 0 fire resist.

Today I've found him 3 times with exactly 6 hours time between!

I was camping Terrorpene and a troll hunter got him before I did. I logged on my horde alt just to say gratz, we talked a bit, was nice Now exactly 6 hours later, Terrorpene is mine

I was just typing a reply in Acherontia's thread on Karoma on how Terrorpene got snagged by a troll hunter before i could get to him and then Terrorpene spawned xD
Instantly forgot what to do Luckily it's 4:30 am here so noone around...

Then realize I made 3 macros, so step 1, step 2 step 3.

5 seconds of tame and my healt went from 45k to 28k... very easy

Here is what I did (@level81)

1. /cast Ancient Hysteria (you need a core hound for this)
2. /script PetAbandon()
3. /use Potion of Speed
/cast Tame Beast

my haste rating with a lot of quest greens to boost it was 19.1, including Imperial Manta Steak, Drums of Forgotten Kings and scroll of fortitude. I also did a +70 fire res on bracers with LW

I relogged and asked random ally hunters if they had a horde named Abashy-something when I found him up some 3 hours ago but I couldn't find you and they must have thought I was crazy. I'm glad you got him!

I just saw Terrorpene tamed on my server!

I had Silver Dragon go off, over his spawn area, I was on my pally just flying around mining, I wanted to see if I could see him.

And then I saw an orc hunter approaching, with a pally close behind.

He started the tame, and then the pally pulled healing aggro and died.
I was in my tank gear, so low mana, but I flash of light healed him and it was just enough to keep him up. Success! Tame completed. I was glad I was there to help, and I am hoping when my turn comes someone else will be around to help me capture this fearsome (yet amazing) beast.

Just tamed mine I decided to go and check his spawn area before doing some Hyjal quests, and he was there!

I tried taming, but died with about two seconds left. So I quickly ran back, got out my Core Hound, used Lust, went to max range and started to tame. It was very very close, I literally died right as the tame finished. I wasn't sure if I actually succeeded, he just vanished when I died, no taming animation or anything! lol But I got him!

I'm level 82, with 40700 hp and 336 haste unbuffed.

Got him on Runetotem-US. Believe server first tame about 30mins after picking up Ghostcrawler. Time to head out a find a few more... lol



PS: Uneventful tame for a lvl 85 with 335 avg iLevel.

i've been checking on him for the past 3 days since i hit lvl 81. last night i hit lvl 83 and saw my hp at 49K and knew i wouldnt have any problems with his burning hatred.

our server restarted at around 8 am server time. after the restart i waited about and hour with another hunter, then went to sleep. i woke up and logged back on around 2:30pm and he whispered me saying he tamed terrorpene about an hour ago, which would be around 6hrs after server restarted.

i logged off, did my daily stuff and logged back on around 7pm, checked on him once an hour for 30 mins each time till my hearth was off cd, then went back to uldum to continue leveling. i got to lvl 84 and my hp was up to 60k. so around 10pm i started camping the spot. all the way till 5:30am.

he spawned at the south part of the cresent, i landed as close as possible cuz he was moving very quickly towards the northside. i summoned Smaug (Chromaggus), cast Ancient Hysteria, dismissed, auto shot him, drank my flask of resistance, drank my potion of haste, cast tame, and watch the cast bar count down. my hands are still a bit shaky atm

i clicked on my combat log to show the dmg he did and the resist i had with just 50 fr.

aaww that is so kind, thank you I was pretty sure about the respawn timer so I logged around 4:20 and at 4:30 he respawned.
Now I can retire Ghamoora, she deserves that after 2 years

Hello, I found him just as I flew over the magma . Of course I died in between the tame . So I logged onto my Bank, bought some helpfull items ( Stamina-scrolls , Hastefood ) logged back, grabbed my Corehound and tried again . And I died again. I thought....okay..one more try. So I searched the area for that red dot, but couldnt find him. Then I recalled the text I read just a few min before here on petopia, and I checked my pet slots.... and there he was

Has anyone noticed that shell shield has no animation on Terrorpene? It works, but it doesn't show the yellow shield around him... or is it just mine...

Actually, if you look closely at his side you'll notice that you can see parts of it. The shell was not resized to fit the larger Terrorpene/Tortolla model turtles, so it's actually hidden inside him. xD
