Gosh...I did an impulse tame on the Large Loch Crocolisk before the Cataclysm.

Image

I was very VERY sentimental at the time, since I was bringing Ursa by the Grizzled Black Bears, who were no longer going to exist, and I'd never seen this guy before. I knew he was going to turn into Gosh-Haldir, who I have had a major thing for ever since she was first discovered.

So I tamed him, knowing what he would become. No clue on a name or personality. I just knew I had to do it.

Mind you, I don't even like the yellow crocolisk skin; it's just not my thing. I had really liked Gosh-Haldir's skin from the beginning, but I wasn't planning on actually taming her because I wasn't really connecting with her for some reason (probably Gumbo having discovered Argenta and Kalliope not seeming like a crocolisk kind of girl).

I couldn't stand to stable him. I had felt such a strong pull from this guy that I really wanted to give him a chance. I was still heavily camping the TLPD at the time, so we spent a lot of time in Storm Peaks. I settled on Pygmalion for a name and that was it. I got attached, even when he was still a yellow croc. When he changed, nothing between us did (he just became easier on the eyes!). Ursa's actually made room for Pyg as a fellow tanking buddy. Kalli's NEVER had another go-to tank before. But Ursa's okay with him. After all, Pyg never would have been born if it wasn't for Ursa.

Considering how I usually pre-plan Kalliope's tames out in ridiculous detail, this was incredibly unusual for me. He's a very special croc. :)

Crocolisks by far. i have never had one before, and tamed the purple one on a whim (I had to be sneaky and tame it when an ally was on the quest that summons it) Since then, i have him out more than any other pet.

-Veph: When I eventually level my bounty huntress (who has a red and black theme), that's the parrot I want to get her, and seeing it next to your hunter makes me even more excited about it. :D

-Kalli: I tamed Gosh-Haldir recently on my huntress (I really wanted a stable skinned green Cata croc so I figured snagging this guy would do). I love my little Nero so much. He's specced to be a PvP pet, and even so he still manages to hold threat well and take a beating when I'm out questing with him.

I've spent a bit of time going through my orc, Vitani's stables. My boyfriend knows that I like to use pets that not many other people use (which, oddly enough, usually end up being fairly common skins; I think I see more rares than commons. ) so when I was deciding between using a serpent and a raptor, he mentioned dropping the raptor and keeping a snake as raptors seem to get more love than snakes.

I knew that he was right and that I really loved the cobra models and had a hard time bonding with any of the raptor skins. I said goodbye to my green raptor and pulled my green cobra out of the stables. He was pretty, but I had been eye-balling the violet cobra skin on the website and talking to my man about it. One short trip to Thousand Needles later and I tamed one of these beauties. Comparing the violet to the green, I knew which cobra would be staying, even after asking my boyfriend's opinion.

The green snake and I made our farewells, and I named my beautiful new cobra Nagaina (kudos if you get the reference =P). I'm so happy I decided to pick her up. She's absolutely gorgeous (and matches the mini-pet to boot!) and from her very first pet-emote, I can't imagine ever abandoning her.

Rak'Shiri would probably be on this list as well. I ran into him for the first time ever the other day....and I forgot that I had Hell-Hoot still out (tamed him for when his skin changes), and as I stupidly hit my tame key after landing my mount and following this pretty tiger around, I watched in dumbfounded clumsiness as my newly tamed owl killed my first ever sighting of Rak'Shiri.
My boyfriend watched the whole thing and laughed as I was practically yelling out-loud about it. For some really stupid reason I thought I didn't have a pet already summoned when I landed. -_- Worst feeling ever; and I've been too busy working on my DK since to go check and see if he's up again.

And low and behold, as I travel to Winterspring to check on Rak, he's up and roaming about. /happydance
My gawd he's beautiful. I know a lot of people miss his old skin, but I think he's freakin gorgeous with his new skin (and thankfully Shy's still around for the old skin). Just need a name for him now.

Another one. At first, I saw Terrorpene. He looked cool, but I had a scarab. Then I camped for him. And I tamed him. And surely, this little lava turtle has earned his permanent place in my stables.

Mine would have to be Jadefang. I hate spiders! :o But I was looking at him for a while here and thought he really didnt look like the other "real life" looking spiders. So I decided to tame him first before getting the companion pet. After taming him I took him out for the usual new pet "test run" and loved the buff, the way he just took off and tanked very well and of course that sqweeeeel! He is in my top 5 now of favorite pets to play with. Only one thing would make him a top 3 pet and that would be to make him not a BM only pet. But hey, wat cha gonna do right?

I'd have to say my Tyrant Devilsaur "BangaGong" was never really used... Let's just say I just had him in the stable because I was BM and I could. But when i started leveling pets, I noticed that He was one of my favorites! I don't know why, I guess it's because it reminds me of Jurassic park...

Anywho, Apart from Deadbone he is my new favorite pet I have! (Not as good as Deadbone but pretty close second) and whose my new 3rd favorite pet that I never thought I would bond with?

Sloth, my Silithid Collossus! I love him too, but Not quite sure why. I hate bugs more then anything, however in WoW they fasinate me! I have at least 1 spider on all my hunters!

I have to say the pet that has really grown on my is the Gray Scorpid from Tanaris. He's just beautiful and his color is like the embers on a dying fire. Which is what I wound up naming him... Ember.

I had never seen Madexx on live before. At all. Ever. I hadn't looked for him often, since I had no interest in the model. Not no way, not no how.

I spotted and tamed the black version on the PTR, just because I *could*. I just kinda shrugged. No big deal.

Tonight, while wandering around Uldum about to go to bed, I hear SD go off.

It's Madexx.

And he's green.

Why. WHY did he have to spawn GREEN?

Had he been any other color, it would not have happened. But he was, so I ran to get Perseus the blue warp stalker out of the stable and let him become Perseus the green scorpid.

He's actually kinda cute. >_> I think he's going to stay. :D I haven't had a scorpid on Kalliope since Orpheus was a pink scorpid back in BC. Whee!

Still...I never saw this coming, haha!

Why did he spawn in green? Because he knew that was the only way to win you over. Madexx is smart. Madexx is sneaky. Madexx woos the ladies with a wave of his claws. He beckoned, you came. End of story.

Grats on your green guy! He's gorgeous. May you have a wonderful future together. :D

You're absolutely right, Rhy! He's a crafty lil' bugger! He really laid it on thick, too. He was at the northernmost spawn, which meant he was completely alone with no other mobs nearby (though that will change in the patch), which is basically the WoW-equivalent of big Puss-in-Boots kitty eyes for me.

And thank you! xD <3

My favourite pet skin to date. Wish it was Ferocity/Cunning though, so I could actually use it..

Skaut - whats stopping you now? Tenacity is just as good as Ferocity and Cunning right now. I love my big lug of a worm, Coldstone. x3

on X, my main hunter i was instantly drawn to getting a polar bear since shes in RP an Ice Troll (Winterfang Tribe, a small enemy tribe of the Drakkari specifically) and well, once i got to lvl 10 i started my long journey from Orgrimmar to Dun Morogh.

Took me a couple hours due to myself dying constantly the second i ressurect at my corpse (the rez timer also got longer and longer) but when i got there i had lvled to 11 as i expected and i snuck into the last zone for Dwarves&Gnomes where you gotta kill the bear Mangleclaw and i tamed him with ease, fed him some boar meat till he was gleaming with joy and hearthed out :)

I had Brandon my polar bear (named after one of my best friends) and he went everywhere and did everything for me and never went into the stable once until i hit 71 and tamed myself a rhino. I ended up forgetting about poor Brandon and he got sadder and sadder so i actually rode down back into dun morogh (im a RPer, i cant just abandon a pet in the middle of a strange environment it didnt originate in haha) and released him amongst a bunch of other bears and renamed my rhino Brandon in his name ^.^

Were they buffed recently?

I live by Warcraft Hunters Union, so I could have missed it;)

Here's what it says:

"The only situation in which you’d be trying to dps with a tenacity pet is if you’re a BM hunter using the worm pet to aoe your way through trash, or BM hunter bringing the Shale Spider because your raid needs that buff. Every raid buff that is provided by a hunter pet is available through ferocity or cunning pets, after all.

Using a worm to burn through all the trash pulls is absolutely a valid BM strategy — in fact it’s the reason the worm pet has the ability it does (and the reason the worm is tenacity and not ferocity is because otherwise you’d never use any other pet for boss fights)."

I think more of what Taluwen means is that you can really bring whatever pet you want to a group. ^_^

If you really want, you can bring whatever pet will buff the group best, but bringing a tenacity pet won't utterly murder your dps the way it used to, especially if you're doing a lot of AoE pulling without CC, then I imagine a worm comes in handy. Or you could bring your worm just because its your favorite pet.

Yep, Madexx is a charmer. During that hunting trip I wasn't sure if I'd like the critter once I had him, I kept at it. It was a quick camp, three days. I decided not to be picky about color. Madexx turned up in his black suit for me and I was his after his first claw wave. He won't leave Shaon's side.

And it was Shaon who tamed Mosh that day and for whom the gorillas were the go to temporary pets during the three or four attempts it took her at 72ish to get Mosh tamed. And to this day, no gorilla has ever graced her stable-we just cannot. Despite the fact that I am sure that all has been forgiven.

Hmmm pet I wouldn't have dared think I could have bonded with....

Skoll: I was primarily a cat owner up until finding him. I named him Yentruoc (yen True Ock or Courtney(gf) backwards) and oh my god does he own. He still gets loads of attention

The warp stalkers: Wasn't a fan of them for a bit till I got to Vashj'ir and saw them swimming. OMG!!! So now I have Gezzrak, the red one from Blades edge, the green one from winterspring and the blue one fron Vashj'ir. Their personalities are just awesome. Vicious cuddly scalie demons with a sense of humor ( Bishabosh(Gezzrak) brought me a pile of fish thanks to pet emote. It was sooo cute and grossed out the "vegan" warlock in the tavern)

I have another one now too; Yami, my ravager.

Let me establish this right off the bat: I don't like ravagers. They're like something from a sci-fi horror movie. They look like little maggots on pointy legs. Initially I had one JUST because they're the only available pets right now with the "target takes 4% increased physical damage" ability. And that is one kickass ability.

I like that ability so much that I started taking Yami into raids and killing the DPS meter. Eventually, he started to grow on me. It began with his emotes from the PetEmote addon. He would "prance around mischievously" and everyone in my guild would double over in laughter. And then I noticed that when I go into camouflage, his eyes still glow red. So that's pretty cool.

I abandoned him once when I stumbled upon an unexpected rare, and actually missed him! And I don't even like ravagers! I have him back now, and somehow he has cemented his place in my stables.

I'm way too lazy right now to take a screenie, but this is his model:

I hate Rhinos. Lets just get that out in the open.
But today, for no reason, I went out and tamed Moose.
He's huge, he's fat, he waddles, and for some reason, I love him.
