Im now interested in taming a lightbloom saptor, I love the gilded look it has with the claws and the holy glow
Also one thing to say Just in case this happens in advance, since the new Florafaun pets are classed as elementals, they will have the mend pet invalid target error since elementals are another classification being added

I hope the florafaun unlock isn't too difficult to get, because I've loved them a long time!

Hey, someone on alpha? Go test this right now. Magmorax is, as of the current alpha build on wowhead's database, flagged tameable as a hydra. Huge if true.

If Magmorax really is tameable, then the whole two expansion thing might be out the window. There's only TWW between Dragonflight and Midnight, so this would be the first time we had a raid tameable so early. A very welcome surprise, for sure. It's likely that, if this is indeed intended, then it is probably because Magmorax was the only raid boss in Dragonflight that would be flagged tameable. It could be a kind gesture so we have a little extra on top of the already extravagant selection we've got in Midnight.

I hope magmorax actually makes it, I have both of the boss hydras, now I need him to complete my boss hydra collection

Unfortunately, the gargons from Castle Nathria weren't flagged yet. Not that I mind since I absolutely hate how ugly those things are, but in general, it's blowing my mind that we skipped Shadowlands so far and went right to DF raid tames lol.

I hope they follow through, I will park myself in front of the LFR npc or just dive into Normal and grind until I get there day 1 it's available. Magmorax has such awesome faces / head sculpt / design. And of course it's flamey / glowy so that's makes it even more terrific!

Yeah magmorax is something alright. The contrast between the gray and the orange makes it pop out, he’s mine soon enough. I didn’t think we’d get Fetid before Magmorax, this is the cool hydra expansion, I must replace half of my mortal wounds pets with more hydras

Midnight isn't the Xalatoes expansion; it's the hydra expansion. THREE new types of hydras, and we're only a bit over a week of the alpha. God only knows how many other new hydras we're getting lol

I could also call this the next bird expansion. We got new dragonhawks, hawkstriders, realistic colored eagles, one is like a bearded vulture, and the best of all, petalwings, our first hummingbird ever, even though it’s florafaun

Unfortunately, raids are blocked right now - you can't enter

I'd try for Magmorax otherwise!

My mind is blanking right now, did we always have ‘Pet trainers’ or is this new? They’re not for battle pets, they’re next to a Devilsaur, and the Hunter trainer is in the back to the right. Are they just oddly named Stablemasters?
Those are a really really old relic from when we had to train our pets individual spells back in vanilla. Thank god that's not a thing anymore!
So like why are they still there in new Silvermoon in the alpha tho? Unless it's an alternative pet spec switcher from the Stablemaster now but that feels like a waste when the Stablemasters are also nearby.
Also yeah I remember doing that, but also gaining upgraded ranks in pet abilities by taming one that had it and letting it fight while out so you could learn it yourself and 'teach' to your main pets.

They kept those NPCs because, at least in theory, they wanted to keep the NPCs as an homage to the original Silvermoon. They still live in the city, after all.

The Garden Snail mounts that I mentioned before now have had their models entered into the database. Hopefully, they'll be added as normal mobs at some point (not counting on it), since they look great.
There is also a Thornmaw that would retain the "painted" effect after being tamed, like a few other beasts.
There is an NPC called Spawn of Ix that uses all of the Cosmic Worm models, including the unused red and blue.
The new Sporebats, at least according to the mount versions, are called Sporegliders.
The Capybaras are just called Baras.
The Fungal Jellyfish are called Sporepuffs.

Those snail mounts look fantastic, Sporeglider actually makes a lot of sense for its name, I like it. Painted thornmaws, that’s crazy lol, I think Werebear earlier in the thread posted a link to a painted potatoad. And I would love to learn the lore about the Florafaun and fungafaun(I’ll call it that for the sake of existing) on how they exist

I think that it, basically, is that the Rutaani (plant people) are using the Light to rapid grow plants and animal-like plants. It is becoming a problem in Eversong and originates from Harandar.
Also, there likely will be bears that will use the new Amani Armor Bear models and are tamable. There is at least one NPC that has one as a pet. It is hard to tell due to the mask/helmet that they wear, but they seem to be textured properly underneath. The base model itself seems to be based-off of the bear mount in the Blizz Store, so maybe we'll be getting a new basic bear model at some point.
There will likely be new Lasher/Venus Fly Trap mounts added in soon, as well as Mandrake pets.

Looks very good, Wain! Great job.
The new leeches (the ones with a stone-like body) are called Blistercreepers.
