Just went to tame Dagou in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms but was greeted with a "Creature is Not Tamable". I was in my BM spec and everything. I beast lored him and confirmed he was untamable.

Ah, looks like he was originally but they hotfixed it on October 4.

Creatures:
Dagou, objective of "The Guo-Lai Halls", is no longer tameable.

I just tamed the Gurthan Iron Maw and realized that it is a color changer. It switches between the Gray and white Quilen colors. Here I thought I was just mistaken in which color I tamed but upon dismissing it and recalling it a few times I found that it does in fact change colors. Hope this helps!

That's very interesting! And a worry. Can anyone else confirm this? In theory this should no longer be possible!

Just went and tamed one that paths near the quest giver. Summoned over 10 times, was always the color (white) that I tamed it in.

I wonder if there's an odd bug that might cause this to happen to the occasional tame. Or if it was just a caching thing (like when I saw that giant spider!) and only appears that way to the user.

I'm not sure if anyone else has had this happen... Another weird thing I noticed about when I have this pet summoned when I am at the character selection screen instead of showing my character with the quilen it shows it with a giant baby monkey! O_o I added screenshots to show what I am seeing.

*edit: I had some random people in game watch my pet as I dismissed and recalled it and it changed for them as well

*another edit: Perhaps it was the way I tamed it that made it different... When I tamed mine it was frozen and polymorphed into a baby monkey...Maybe it was then glitched so that would explain the monkey on my character selection screen and the changing colors because it wouldn't know which color to keep it as since it was polymorphed when I tamed it and that pet can come in two different colors.

Just tested with a Baradin Fox in Tol Barad. When I tamed it while polymorphed, it became a color changer!

Tested too. but i wonder: the change color applies when you dismiss and recall it or only when you log in and log out? for now i can see the sheep in the loading screen. but i've tried it on a core hound so there are no colors. maybe we can get some unused skin this way? what is the most cool pet to do that on?

EDIT: it seems it really change colors everytime you call the pet. the color is based on the beasts there are in that zone. if there are 2 foxes one grey and one blue, when you do the trick on the blue it can also become grey. so ...we habe to think about the best beast to apply this trick on XD

So in a manner of speaking, color changers do still exist! How funny this bug is!

The pets listed on Petopia with multiple possible appearances (the former color changers) should all respond to this, in theory.

Snort the Heckler is labeled as in the Northern Barrens when he is in the Southern.

Wow that colour changing / polymorph thing is fascinating! Nicely caught guys

I'll have to report it, of course, but it's a cool effect anyway.

I also wonder if the mob is hexed whether you can end up with a frog on your log-in screen

Everything up to this point is on the spreadsheet. It will require Mania to implement it though.

embrace of the shale spider no longer boosts stamina. It only lists str, agi and int now.

Hopefully everything up to this point that relates to tameable beasts and looks, is now fixed. And Mania has added a 5.1 section to Petopia as well!

(The black dragonhawk is currently missing from the new looks but hopefully will be fixed soon).

That was happening in the beta. I tamed one that was the red color with the blue mane and after one of the beta updates when they removed the red color Quilen from that place, it became a color changer just like you are showing, switching between the same two skins. Now the Terracotta Guardians in Moguisha are the red ones.

Just a note that Bombyx will need to be updated to 90, Krasarang Wilds when 5.1 goes live.
