Except as I mentioned in the mounts thread, there's ALSO an item that's an actual mount (with the 'dependent on your riding skill' text on it). Using the hitching post transforms an existing mount, so if that were the only item, then there would be no need for an actual mount item.

My guess is that either they're both store items, with the post being cheaper (like 25$ for the mount, or 10$ for the post) or else somehow you can do some kind of /use ability on the mount that allows you to spit out a hitching post so your buddies can match. Not that I know how they'd do that. @_@

That's certainly not impossible. We can hope so! There's also the (placeholder) spell The Equinator, which is an apt name for this mount but doesn't seem to have been used for anything yet.

It actually looks like we will get both items at the same time though, by going with what the tooltips are saying. The one for the post says it requires the mount, and doesn't appear to have any charges on it either!

Warforged Nightmare
Warforged Nightmare
Item Level 20
Binds when picked up
Mount (Account-wide)
Use: Teaches you how to summon this mount. The capabilities of this mount depend on your Riding skill and location.
Requires Level 20
Requires Apprentice Riding
Nightmarish Hitching Post
Nightmarish Hitching Post
Item Level 1
Binds when picked up
Use: Summons a nightmarish hitching post.

Party members may use the post to transform their mounts into Warforged Nightmares for 20 min. (3 Min Cooldown)
Requires Warforged Nightmare

Maybe if you buy the mount (store?) you also get a stack of posts with it so you can share the joy of it with your friends :) Or just buy them separately. That would be very cool.

Whatever they have planned, I've updated WCM to reflect it could go either way, or both. Thanks guys for your advice :)

Is wow ok with that? I was considering it
I just did it myself to get the Emerald Hippogryph - wait till you see WOW on sale for 9.99 (check amazon right now even) - pick it up and a 60 day game card ~ 40 bucks, but then you're main account will get a month of gameplay as well

40-15 = $25 for the mount and 90 days of play time with the 2nd account.

I dual boxed them together to benefit from the 3X experience boost. leveled a new paladin up to a sliver from 86, used RAF grant a levels to a mid 40's monk to boost them up to 86

When done primarily through Dungeon finder ~ I went from 1-40 in about 4-5 hours used a program called Hotkeynet. Took maybe 30 minutes of research to figure everything out again.

I sure hope it ends up something like this, personally I think it would be a great shame if such an amazing mount was only ever a temp item.

But then we have Moonfang as proof that they're willing go that route. :(
