Adding +1 to "any rare" dropping Florafaun taming. I got it off of Ha'kalawe, a green sporebat rare. Though, I accidentally pulled another mob at the same time, so the loot pool looks a bit scuffed, but I choose to believe Ha'kalawe is the source.

I totally will get there, the beta was too buggy to level up, I only tested the survival changes and tamed a hawkstrider and a pango in eversong. Will farm for the skill once I get past the lagfest

The Harrower that was tamable is no longer tamable.

Great that another source of the taming tome has been found. Hopefully it's all florafaun rares.
If you're starting anew in Beta, if you wouldn't mind trying out different rares to test this, that would be wonderful. Are there any in Eversong as well?
And please post if the rare was also an elite, since I'm curious if that matters.
Thanks

I’ve killed rares in Eversong and it hasn’t dropped, which makes sense since the Haranir are the ones that created the tome.
The two rares that it has been confirmed to drop from are just normal rares. I think that any rares in Harandar has a chance of dropping it. I got Queen Lashtongue to drop it again on Beta, first try. I don’t think them being elite or not matters.
Since I can now tame Blood Beasts, here is the Bane of the Vilebloods. We'll see if it sticks around or not.

I'm pretty sure blistercreeps are unintended but that does look pretty decent - no weirder than the new consumptors.

I have 22 copies of my character (thanks Beta for somehow not working for the first two hours lol), so I'll try other rares if I can find them when I get to those characters. I have a buddy who can also check this, whenever he's available. I'm just doing a full quest sweep on the first one right now, pointing out bugs (and a very hilariously phallic-shaped quest marker) that I find. The rare I killed, Ha'kalawe, was just a regular elite as Valnaaros stated. Tanky bastard, but definitely not elite. I couldn't find any other rares when I went to the zone last night, but I also got hard stopped by a quest that wasn't working (looting six iceberries in the vision, only five were ever clickable), so I wasn't in the zone for very long. Also for the record, Ha'kalawe was the first rare I killed in the zone, if that ends up mattering.
Regarding the blistercreeps, we need to push for them to be properly tameable. No reason not to be when they clearly work, and they add a wonderful(?) new look to the Blood Beast family.

Will the tome drop for alts if you already learned it on another char? Is the skill account wide?

It is indeed an account-wide unlock, as a fresh copied alt was able to tame florafaun right away. This alt, a Draenei hunter, hasn't done any questing in the beta. Literally just copied and jumped right to the garrison to go check a plant hydra.

Wait a minute, something's not right here...
Kunchongs seem to be missing their right arms for some reason on the beta lol. That's certainly one of the bugs of all time.

Finally found some potadpoles. There's no reason these can't be marked tameable! I mean, they're critters right now, but that's an easy fix; just make them elemental and put em in the hopper family! They have the mudskipper animations, and the adult potatoads are tameable florafaun, so they'd be a perfect addition. I'll be pushing for this for sure.

While being unable to proceed in the Harandar quests due to the quest "Echoes and Memories" being impossible to complete, I went to check old content to see if bosses were indeed tameable.
Garalon is a beast on the map when tracking beasts, but the NPC itself is not a beast; it's got no category and only shows "Level ?? (Boss)", so it is not tameable. It's also missing its arm, so kunchongs in general are bugged (heh). I reported Garalon for not properly showing as a beast.
I'm heading to Aberrus next to see both how hard it is to solo with the squish (at level 82), as well as to check on Magmorax.
EDIT: Can't enter Aberrus on the beta, so no way to test that one for now.

I've already checked Aberrus and other locations or raids of note. They are all locked currently.

Doing a bit of flying around. Don't remember if it was reported, but Hidegorger the Everburning (new dragonhawk, located in Zul'aman) does not keep its name when tamed. Should though.
@Valnaaros; Didn't know if you checked in beta. I know you did on alpha though.

Finally found amazards, so I had to make a comparison for different sizes. Big boys.

That's true, I hadn't mentioned it. I have checked pretty much everything in Alpha and so far in Beta. There difference between the last Alpha build and the first Beta build is not much, so a taming pass hasn't been done yet, including anything that can and should retain their name. The vast majority of things I haven't reported directly here because it would just flood the forum saying whether this is tamable or not, whether this keeps it name or not.
The data will be uploaded within the next few days, as Wain said, so everything will be available on the main site to make comparisons and corrections

Gotta be dropping that info here, man! Lets us all compare notes, find discrepancies, and so on. We would normally have a bug thread, but Wain hasn't gotten around to that yet, so dropping all the bugs we find here makes collecting them later an easier task!

Found Rhazul just before the servers went and got reset. Seeing ingame gave me a better appreciation for the model; it's got some muscle on it. The screenshots make it look thin, but this fella is absolutely not thin at all. It's also pretty long lol. Might be as long as an amazard.

They fixed the bugged Harandar quest, so I was finally able to proceed. I'm on the quest "Echo of the Hunt", and this quest shows that the Haranir bear and flight forms were originally normal wild beasts called Pangquill and Razorquill, respectively. So far, these are the only "wild" instances of the beasts that I came across, and they are sadly both not tamable and locked behind a vehicle. Regardless, it gives significant pretense so that these beasts can absolutely be put somewhere as tameable pets! I'm not holding my breath though.
