Shame it has the horrible flaw of forgetting how to fly once tamed, but this is still nice. I almost didn't see this thing because it kept disappearing into the mist around Halazzi's shrine in Zul'Aman lol.
may i know would you mind sharing the coordinates or a screenshot of the location in the map? thank you!!

Lol that is a first for me. A tameable humanoid shaped creature. I still miss my fog beast from tww beta, if it had crawling animations it would be a decent pet
may i know if this ultradon is still tamable? if yes, may know what are the coordinates? thank you!!

In order:
Tor'go is spawned during one of the Worldsoul Memory events that spawn in the Ringing Deeps. You might have to do a few before it shows up since it's a rare, but it shouldn't take too long.
The paint-crazed NPCs are spawned during this quest: https://www.wowhead.com/beta/quest=92695/the-stroke-of-storms
The Ultradon was made untameable, unfortunately. It was not intended to be tamed, but was accidentally given the same taming data as the nearby ravagers.

Tor'go spawns specifically during the Primal Predators WorldSoul memory event in The Ringing Depths, not just any of the events. There is a set rotation pattern for the rares for all of the events. Two rares cannot be up at the same time, generally, so if one is up it either has to be killed or you have to wait for it to despawn if it hasn't spawned yet.

I don't know how Sinewshredder (the Ultradon) was accidentally made tamable. There aren't any Ravagers nearby where he is located. Possibly a reused ID from an NPC that was a Ravager or something.

Looks like I'll have one more (unused) Eversong manawyrm colour to add.

I discovered that the mount and wild models use the same texture format - and for the blue and void mounts the body/glow textures are identical between models.

I assumed 'white' was the same but didn't look closely until I came to take mount model shots. It turns out the two 'whites' are a little different, and the mount texture could be copied to the wild model to creature a more golden version.

See the comparison image. The top is the current wild 'white', while the bottom is the mount textures applied to the wild model. The result is a much golder colour.

Side by side, the top one looks like it's one step before completion. Bottom one looks so much better, and it's just a slight tint lol.

Bottom one uses a more holy look to it, I like it. Btw I’m super late to notify here, but normal tallstrider animations have been changed. The first ever creature in wow to ever receive two animation updates. Hawkstriders still use their fast animation and hornstriders are still slow mo

It’s been changed on midnight roughly the same as the new horse rig

Officially added the more golden mana wyrm look from the mount:

I hope they copy it over. Actually, I wish I'd seen it sooner: maybe I could have convinced them to use it for the Lightbloom mana wyrms. Probably way too late now.

It's only ever past due, and never too late (unless the game shuts down permanently)! Still a few days til the next build (assuming we get a new one this week), so it won't hurt to at least try.

Head/neck position of tallstrider running animation.

Top: New in Midnight
Bottom: Currently live.

I really missed the original Tallstrider run, this is a great change that looks so much more natural. :)

Some gif comparisons I captured real quick:

The updated animation also has a bit of charm to it in that the bird's mouth wobbles with each step, almost like a cartoon character. The previous one kept its mouth shut, which made it more "serious". I'm not sure if it's just the gif quality or not, but it also seems like the movement of the ankles is more natural and less stiff. Tallstriders are getting some actual love, and that's nice.

Oddly, the hawkstrider models (mount and regular) use the existing tallstrider run, not the new one. I'm surprised, since I would have thought they were the real reason the animation was made. Maybe they're still going to change them but were testing on the tallstrider first. Do you know how long it's been on the tallstrider model for?

The hornstrider model from DF also still uses the stiff-neck animation in Midnight.

I think the tallstrider is possibly the first model that received two animation updates. I remember right when I started playing the game in early cata, the tallstrider still used their old running animation where the head stayed up and the legs did all the work. Good thing mechanostriders are the current holders of the old animations even though they are modified. When the tallstriders received the animations, it was very weird, it was like they raced all the time. The animations did make sense on hawkstriders since they were made for fast mounts, but tallstriders in the wild it didn’t make much sense, the new midnight tallstrider animations look so much better and it matches it very well, I hope they will be implemented to the hornstriders as well, I’m tired of the slow motion and forward head animations. As for hawkstriders, I see them keeping the old animations since they look lighter and swifter compared to normal tallstriders, I’m going to get a old tallstrider back in my stable just for the animation change

Legion Remix has ended for US servers today, and tomorrow will be the launch of the pre-patch for US realms. Friendly reminder that, at least according to Wowhead, we will very likely be able to tame Magmorax and Tor'go starting tomorrow. I don't know how Blizzard will handle it, but I've already got a lockout to Magmorax ready so I can go right in and verify that for myself, assuming the stat squish doesn't make the trash prior to Mag difficult to deal with. Stat squishes do tend to needlessly make things more difficult, after all. As for Tor'go, there's no knowing when he'll be available to check for taming, so that's gonna be fun to try to go for.

Also, we will have access to the new Eversong Woods in the sense that you can fly there, but you will obviously be ported out by a spell that both silences AND pacifies you. So, don't bother trying to get any early tames, it won't work. You can get an early view of the zones at least! I tried extensively on PTR to break that debuff, and nothing could counter it. No early tames for any of us lol
