Legion Remix has ended for US servers today, and tomorrow will be the launch of the pre-patch for US realms. Friendly reminder that, at least according to Wowhead, we will very likely be able to tame
Magmorax and
Tor'go starting tomorrow. I don't know how Blizzard will handle it, but I've already got a lockout to Magmorax ready so I can go right in and verify that for myself, assuming the stat squish doesn't make the trash prior to Mag difficult to deal with. Stat squishes do tend to needlessly make things more difficult, after all. As for Tor'go, there's no knowing when he'll be available to check for taming, so that's gonna be fun to try to go for.
Also, we will have access to the new Eversong Woods in the sense that you can fly there, but you will obviously be ported out by a spell that both silences AND pacifies you. So, don't bother trying to get any early tames, it won't work. You can get an early view of the zones at least!
I tried extensively on PTR to break that debuff, and nothing could counter it. No early tames for any of us lol
Ooh I hope magmorax makes it tomorrow. I have to complete my hydra boss collection, aside from Magmorax this is the second prepatch without any new hunter pets added. Unless a secret is still out there

Unless the patch changes the rotation, Tor'go will be available to be tamed tomorrow.

Any other new pets on pre patch? I'm organising my stables.

I believe that the only new additions are Tor'go and Magmorax. There weren't many things from old content that was touched.

Good news;
- Magmorax is tameable!
- Magmorax respawns shortly after being tamed!
- Magmorax retains his name when tamed!
Wowhead was not wrong. The content doesn't seem to be badly affected by scaling either, so go get your lava hydra whenever you have the time!
EDIT: Tor'go confirmed too. Prepatch complete, time to hibernate until Midnight.

My boss hydra collection is officially complete, I only have boss hydras no regular ones, not joking
Edit - Magmorax is extraordinarily loud, his stomps are crazy but I know they’ll be reduced, he also growls which gives a nice touch

I totally forgot that Magmorax and Tor'go would be available today!
Anyone know Magmorax's min/max levels? I'm assuming Tor'go is only 80.

Magmorax is from a Dragonflight raid, so you need to be 73+. Bosses are three levels up, if I recall. Tor'go is definitely 80+ because you need to be able to get and use worldsoul memories.

Fun note: Garalon, the third boss in the Heart of Fear raid, is flagged as tameable now according to wowhead. However, going there will prove fruitless as Garalon is not flagged as a beast. HOWEVER, it does show on Track Beasts, despite the NPC information when you hover over Garalon not showing the correct NPC type. It's been like this for months on beta, continued on in PTR, and has made it to live in a broken state. Garalon isn't a unique mob, as it simply uses the same black kunchong model as other kunchongs, but it's still worth noting.

It's possible to do it solo on normal difficulty, but you have to kill all the previous bosses. It's easy; the bosses are just life-droppers on normal mode.

That's really odd. I wonder if it could be one of those difficulty phase discrepancies where it's set properly in one difficulty but not another. Still not sure how to explain it showing on track beasts while not a beast, unless the version showing as a beast is a different, cosmetic version? (Like, the one that flies about the place and not the one you fight?)

Garalon's tracking dot disappears upon death. I went in on another hunter, got up to Garalon (his dot appears after defeating all Set'thik Zephyrian mobs), and his little popup when hovering over him only shows "Garalon", "Hostile" (I play with colorblind settings for various reasons other than its intended purpose), and "Level ?? (Boss)". Garalon is not able to be beast lore'd, and upon dying, his dot obviously disappears. Just another oversight on Blizzard's end, is all. Would be nice to see it fixed, though obviously this is such a minor thing that I doubt it will get fixed lol.

I wonder if it has something to do with Garalon's legs being separate "mobs" during the fight? I've never quite known how he's coded as an NPC but we can damage and target his legs separately so there must be something going on there.

My initial thought was that it's just Wowhead being stupid, but everything listed tameable on wowhead does show as tameable on beast lore. Well, except Garalon because it's not a beast despite being trackable of course, but still. I don't think it's the legs though, despite them being attached to Garalon (yes, revolutionary observation I know lol) as extra health bars. They're more like Raigonn's Weak Spot in that regard, but Raigonn is tameable despite that. Just Blizzard being Blizzard most likely.

In the Beta, the Tundra Rhino is no longer a Clefthoof. It is now properly classified as a Scalehide.

That sucks; I use it as my main pet for my frostborn themed earthen hunter/

Oh yeah, this could easily be the case. I don't remember exactly but I have a feeling we're never able to attack or target the true Garalon, just the 'body part' npcs that are actually separate entities. If so, we'd never be able to target the true him to tame him. Does that sound about right?
