I think everyone is on the same page of what happened to the OP sucks loosing a tame you want is never any fun BUT like many have said, the rogue tapped it first so, it was "his" I have met alot of people ( non hunters) who wont kill a rare if there is a hunter right next to them watchign or trying to tame, they will let aggro fall from them for the hunter. not everyone is like this though. As someone had stated, " Rares or NOT for hunters only" Everyone has a right to them. That would be like saying " Ok, hunters get tamable rares, BUT cant kill any other rares and non hunter classes, you can kill any rare mob that is not tamable to hunters" Now if someone is greifing yeah... thats just wrong and should be reported.
So in the long RUN: I am sorry you lost madexx, but alas, we cant say all rogues are bad, i have met MANY nice rogues in my wow time, and rares are not just for hunters, but it boils down to also, if someone taps it first, its rightfully theirs.

@OP: I hope you get madexx soon he is quite a lovely pet

I killed Jadefang for the pet. Had a hunter came up behind me when the mob was half dead, begging for a tame, I'd probably say no. Granted Maddex has no loot, but if someone else is already there killing him, and declines after a polite $$ offer/please stop/etc, then sorry, but you were not there first. It sucks, and it's unfortunate, but the mob gives a LOT of XP. If the guy was 85, then the challenge of the kill may be have been fun for him; it is not your place to tell him he can't if he enjoys it.

You bring up one good point, I don't know what level the guy was... if not 85, I can see it, if 85, thrill of the kill, really? Not like it's a challenge.

But yes, I did get my green Madexx a week ago, so let it die... please....
