To Un-Delete or to make new...

I am debating whether to have my 33 Tauren Hunter(created just before BC) un-deleted and start sending heirlooms to him or start over with an Undead hunter with full heirlooms?(I will wait until I have the 3 hunter pieces I need before creating the undead)
I created the Tauren to tame a pink talstrider and name him Floyd, got him to 33 and got pulled back to the Alliance to raid. I am no longer a full time raider and wanted to level a horde hunter again. I know reputation is easier with new toons but I have my old horde hunter already @ 33....what to do...what to do....?
Once I decide what race to make or un-delete we can start talking pets to match said hunter!
(oh, btw, I only have one character slot available

)

I'm working on a new lowbie too!
I would say go ahead and make a new one, if the only big thing that you were attached to on the tauren was it's level-with heirloom items it is pretty darned easy to level a new toon quickly. And if you haven't leveled a new toon recently, you might want to, just so you can see how the world has changed since Cataclysm. Even for lowbies, there are a bunch of new quests and differences then what you may have done before.
And if you are an undead-it wouldn't be that hard to go tame the pink tallstrider again.
I'm going to go try for the pink one in the Tauren starting zone, on my new toon-Sidhe-eventually. I just ran and got her a lynx out of the troll starting zone, which was a major hike from Darkshore. Only died once though

That makes sense. I have seen the Alliance starting zones but have not seen anything new on the horde side yet so maybe a new toon would be more fun. Undead isn't locked in stone, might go Goblin to get the color changing raptors. But if I start new I will wait until I have the 3 hunter piece heirlooms(I have the cape/head/trinket/ring already) so it might be a few days guess I have time to decide!
Good suggestions!

Silverpine has, hands down, one of the best storylines in any of the lowbie zones.

Leaning more towards undead again now....

I really enjoyed the Barrens/Stonetalon questlines. They were quite fun. I admit not getting into the Silverpine ones.. Though I think it was because I didn't like my character, and that really took away from the storyline. I remember it was interesting, though, I just also remember hating my character a lot more. xD
But OT - I'd go with a new character. Undead are fun.

The main thing that kept me from going horde in vanilla was that there weren't any undead hunters, but now there is....

Undead are fun-but I would say, if you are leaning towards undead, change your realm for a bit and just make a throw away toon to play through the goblin starting zones. And if you have not yet done so-do the same with a worgen toon.
Both of the new races have amazing starting quests and everyone should at least do a run through them, even if you dont plan on keeping the toon.

I have a 22 worgen druid and also deleted a 22 goblin warlock. Both of those 2 were fun! But if the undead/silverpine area is that much fun I should just go undead. Its hard to decide! Once I make one though and mail all 7 heirlooms I will stick with that toon.

It's a good choice I had the same issues and if your character is under lvl 60, they don't keep it backed up after like 3 months or so to be restored.

I don't know about that one, if they can restore a pet I tamed back in vanilla(Olm) they can restore a toon made just as BC came out I'm sure.

But I am leaning more towards making a new one anyways, so hopefully I won't have to get to the point of opening 10 tickets to get 1 GM to help me. lol

I opend up two tickets for a characeter I deleted like 6 months ago and they told them couldn't restore it as they don't save filesthat long anymore. a pet is easier as the data for the pet is always there where as a character has a lot more data to save and is unquie to a degree of every other one out there.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the goblin starting zone.

I've done the worgen one a dozen or more times and I love it because of the story it tells. For me, the goblin one got boring after one run through because it's just too gimmicky. There's only one or two quests I like and I usually end up dragging my feet through the zone.
Edit: The quote from my sig is actually one Godfrey makes after you resurrect him as an undead and go questing with him.

Yes, I'd make a new one just to do Silverpine >_>
I rolled a blood elf warlock, and did the silverpine quests. It was absolutely awsome to me. The story it told, and just how well put together it all was is what got me. Oh, and it also gave me a damn good reason to do SFK (Other than the class specific gear-quests >_>). I killed Godfrey. I killed him hard. I killed him so hard he died to death. AGAIN...
But yeah, undead hunter is my suggestion XD

I say just do whichever race you prefer. You can easily make up that 33 levels in a day or two anyway; levelling is ludicrously fast now.
And I agree wholeheartedly with Tyger about Silverpine--it's quite an excellent story-oriented quest line. Easily the best-designed; only Stonetalon comes close, imo, and Silverpine far outstrips it. That said, you don't need to be Forsaken to do the Silverpine quests, so don't let that influence your choice of race!
I'd say make a lowbie hunter of every race & try it out, check the animations and so forth. I did this, and was hugely surprised that my big favorite--male undead--looks pretty awful (to me!! no offense UD hunters

) as a hunter. I just don't like the way mail armor fits them, or their shooting animations (their elbows turn inside out??). I was surprised to find that I fell in LOVE with the look of a female undead in mail, though; their shooting animations and movement in mail are, to me at least, superb. You might want to give your options a shot in-game before you settle on one race! Oh, and remember to kill your character to see the death animations--you may not like it, and as a hunter you might be feigning often
Tauren make pretty terrible hunters in my eyes; there's nothing to recommend them for PvE, and the only PvP help is War Stomp--useful as only an emergency vs melee, and imo we have enough tools against melee classes as it is. Plus, cast time >.> Like Torrent, it's a melee-range ability so a bit useless to us in the long run. Undead are okay racial-wise--WotF is decent for PvP. Orcs are great--they have a range of PvP- and PvE-friendly abilities for hunters, but then again, I play an orc so I'm partial ;P
I hear the Goblin racials are actually pretty good for hunters, but I haven't had a chance to try 'em. An upshot is that their pets look huge by comparison ;P
TL;DR, as I've written a novel again apparently: Levelling is fast as hell now, Silverpine is great but any race can do it, and try before you buy

33? start over. It's not worth the cost of a race change and the hassle to get restored.
If it was an 80+, then I'd say restore.

Nice! Thx guys and gals. I will play around with the races and pick which one I feel more comfortable with. I do not have a preference when it comes to which sex to play, just what ever one looks the best while moving/playing with each race. I am currently female NE because their movements are more fluid and graceful than a male NE. No one has suggested a troll hunter yet though...are they bad as a hunter?

<3 my troll hunters. Their starting zone is interesting and you can always drag him/her over to Silverpine if you wish to experience their quests. I personally could never play a male because they look like they're folding in half. Their bow animation is pretty cool though. Females don't blink and have stick-straight backs, but I like their wobble run and animations.
I agree with Acherontia though about trying each race/gender combination until you find one you like.

So the Silverpine quest line isn't just undead related, I won't miss anything say running a troll or goblin through there right?
