ITS A CHALLENGE MODE REWARD! 
Challenge Conqueror: Silver: Completing all Challenge Modes on Silver Difficulty will grant the Ancestral Phoenix Mount.
Complete every Challenge Mode dungeon with a rating of Silver or better.

But there's several colours of the phoenix. I wonder where the other colours will come from then...

I was hoping they will be buyable for the medals, since they have gold, silver and bronze medal-coins on them...
I wonder where does he rest of them come from.

I think that's cloud serpents. One cloud serpent is raid meta, another is heroic meta.

Apparently all the colours are from the challenge modes:
The Ancestral Phoenix Egg from challenge modes will allow you to chose what color of phoenix mount you want.

I'm honestly not too sure, the only info was the above line on WoW Insider. I would hope we could do it multiple times and collect them all, but we may have to wait to find out.

I hope we are able to get the egg multiple times because I would never be able to just pick one colour! ):
Edit: I just found that the egg is an achievement reward for completing all the challenge modes with a silver rating or higher. So I'm going to guess we can only have the egg once...
