I happened to be flying my premade through the PTR and came across some subterranean red dots in Kun-Lai. Mousing over them, I found the following:



For those who can't read the grey/small text, they are called 'Jade-Trapped Quilin'. I have been unable to find these dots on live, so I have the strong hopes that, if and when someone can actually find the way down there, they'll find that these are the green Quilin we've been missing.

Considering the terracotta ones in the same area, these may be quest-only, though.

Wain and I did some exploring around there last week. It does appear to be quest-related somehow. I sacrificed myself to get inside the tomb the quilen were in, but sadly, they were all frozen. Got some neat screenshots, though!

It looks to me like an ancient battle between the Mogu and the Monkey King, but they were frozen solid in jade. There are a few items in the next patch that refer to the Monkey King as well.

I guess we'll soon see if it's possible to reanimate the quilen, but they may just be cosmetic

Has anyone checked the Jade Fragment quilen (spawned during Wulon fight when he randomly gets the green buff) in this latest patch? They were flagged as tameable but gave "already controlled" errors.

Still gives "creature is already controlled" error, and still flagged as tameable. I tried a couple ways of trying to maybe tricking it (resetting Wulon when they spawned and trying to tame one when they reset before they died).. nada.

Edit: Last? I thought there was a solid red one floating around unused, like solid purple, blue and green?

Nope, oddly enough there was never an unadorned red stone model, instead we have the grey one.
