Now don't get me wrong.. I fully appreciate what WoW GM's do but I haven't been able to get a particularly polite or helpful one since.. I don't even know when.

For example, I recently ticketed to have a name unlocked on Moon Guard. The character in question was level 7 and I decided to check. Well this GM looks up three names for me.. All 3 weren't the name I was asking about in the first place. THAT name was never mentioned.. On top of that she tells me "Since I see I was checking on Moon Guard which is a non RP server feel free to use special characters in your name!". What? since when is MG NOT an RP server? Why wasn't the name that was clearly written in the ticket(and yes I checked)investigated. I know she knew she was talking to the right person because she used my characters name in addressing me, by that I mean the one I was online with. I don't even understand..

I know Blizz is busy, I know they work hard, I know that they've got a lot on their plate but is it so much to ask for a GM that actually READS what I wrote? I'll give her that she tried to tell me a joke and throw in a bunch of nerd references that were.. cute.. I suppose but that doesn't solve the issue I made the ticket about.

I don't know, I know I wasn't online to receive the response but she could have at least.. I don't know read what I wrote?

How were you able to send a ticket in to free a name up? I can't do anything of the sort-- I want a name that is listed as Unavailable when there are characters on other servers who have the name and the ones I'm trying to get the name on, it doesn't exist as a user

You just put it in for "I have an in-game issue" and then "My issue isn't listed here" they'll suggest things you need to do but when you scroll down you can hit submit a ticket. I have had that problem too and I can tell you that you probably wont get that name unlocked. The GM told me that when that happens it means someone is most likely currently in the process of transferring a character over to that server that has that name. It's stupid because it doesn't show it or register it.

Let's just hope you get one that actually READS what you wrote though.. Mine didn't..

I had a GM recently that told me I would need to wait 90 days if my friend were to delete the name I had him reserve for me (when we were still friends) in order for me to use it. The toon is level 1 though. I was like... UH? WAT?

If you delete a toon, you don't have to wait 90 days for the name. And it wasn't like the GM was talking about them getting a change, because level 1's CANT get a change.

So yeah, I think they're getting a little sloppy.

I will fully agree, the part about MG and putting a special character in the name just blew me away. Like.. if it ISNT an RP server you can do that!.. But.. but MG IS an RP server. >.<

Ahhk and that's... bizzare. I really hope both you guys get your name D: In a bit when this new cold medicine really kicks in I'll try to muster up the energy to dig through the ticket process to send one out

Oh yeah, they're terrible. My brother transferred a character from my account to my father's account, on the same server. For whatever reason, he couldn't use his name anymore (I know that he should be able to as I've done account transfers to the same server before and kept my name) so we put in a ticket. If I remember right, it boiled down to "sorry we can't help you someone has already claimed that name and oh by the way you can buy a name change in 30 days if you want when the name may or may not be reserved."

no kidding someone claimed the name. WE DID. FFS.

Unless they changed it recently, you have to wait 30 days to use that name on the sever it was deleted from no matter what the toon's level.

Agreed. It's 30 days, not 90.

Not if they logged in at all. If they logged in at all then it's a 30 day wait, if they made the toon without logging in and deleted it then there is no wait.

Oh. Well yeah. The toon was never logged into.

I dunno about that. A GM told me if the account is active at all, it's still a 30 day wait.
