Re: Shadowlands Alpha/Beta Beast Thread

Rams! It looks like the new Stormpike battlecharger model. There's also the vicious war ram model, it'd be my preference, but I love them both. ♪♫ "Sheep go to Bastion, Goats go to Maw." ♫♪ Decomposer babies look like worm/grubs. Medium look like a combination of stag and rhinoceros beetle...

Re: LF Poses

I've been having lots of fun experimenting with Narcissus, thanks for the suggestion. Also, I figured out how to do the kneeling+aiming pose. You have to put it in a macro and hotkey it, because it's not exactly done with the addon. For rifle: /run NarciPlayerModelFrame1:PlayAnimKit(2498,true) for b...

Re: LF Poses

oo. Narcissus is looking like it will be real helpful for getting falconeer shots especially. If there's a way to do combined animations, like kneeling and holding rifle, I haven't figured it out. I have one that I made that I think is from the modelviewer and not just stitched together in GIMP. I k...

LF Poses

There are several poses I'd like to use for xmog pics, but I don't know (or don't remember) how to do them. I'm pretty sure I've used the modelviewer for them, but I'd like to use them in situ . I'm looking for toys, spells, etc, that cause these animations: stealth walk (without any stealth effects...

I'll add those things to the unofficial family category. I've already taken shots of the wicker creatures, but I'll get pics of the skeletal/undead ones too. Re: 8.3 Taming List

Those solar hawks in Uldum (or a beetle with a similar effect) would be fun. And a change from the standard blue, and not confused with the inscription pets (if that's why they wouldn't do a red one).

Re: 8.3 Taming List

For spirit beast missed opportunities from the zandalar side, all those spectral models in BDA (toads, raptors, pterrordax?) would be nice. That transparency method is so much prettier than like what we got on Bulwinkel. Merektha's model would be really good too.

Ohh, you are right. I've no idea why I thought that he'd been added as a tameable beast in the pre-launch event. Hati doesn't exactly feel new/BfA, even though they came with fun toys, because we had a Hati all Legion whether we wanted or not. Drust bears/wolfcats feel like a tease, considering all...

Re: 8.3 Taming List

Personally speaking, I'm all for a hunter pet collection. And as I've said in the past, all they need to do is make it a toggle you can turn on at the stable master, so people who don't want it can stay with slots. The people who say that's not acceptable because they'll feel 'forced' to use it or ...

Re: 8.3 Taming List

The Journal interface is more than just "more slots". A gold dump for more slots wouldn't have as many of the downsides as a Journal. It would be an easy way to do it. A fun way (that would be a lot more time consuming to design/code) would be if we could raze our garrison and build a zoo,...

Re: NPC Testing Macros

I've found a way to use the DressUpFrame, which will be useful for what you want (seeing random looks that the npc can possibly come in). I think you can do something slightly different to find it's current displayID, which I think might be most useful for dire beasts. It still requires a one-time (...

Re: NPC Testing Macros

If anyone else wants to experiment, and is lua inclined, this can save you a little time (although I could be wrong about some of it). The DressUpFrame went from using a DressUpModel to using a ModelScene with a bunch ModelSceneActor's, which doesn't derive from any of the old Model types. One Model...

Re: 8.3 Taming List

I thought we couldn't do the Pandaria celestials because they were reserved for monk abilities. For nightmare Ursoc or other druid form models, I think the Loque/Har'koa route is more likely. It's not like taming Ursoc would be a challenge to show off, so taming him directly wouldn't be necessary. A...

I want Rams too, just plop them into the goat family, the vicious war ram mount has a good model, and an almost useable skin under the armor. I think Shadowlands would be a good time to add them in, since (to paraphrase the song) "Sheep go to Bastion, goats go to Revendreth". As for BfA co...

pet preview macro(s)

Back when we were looking which hexed beasts kept their drustvar spookiness, I shared a macro that would preview what the pet would look like post tame. Since then, Blizzard changed how the Dressing Room code worked, so the code no longer works. And if there's a way to do it using the current Dressi...

We really need to start bugging blizzard about making Kuchongs and other Silithid like the Goliath tameable because their models are outstandingly amazing and beautiful. yes. Re: 8.3 Taming List

There's no beasts in the emerald dreamway (currently) in the heart essence scenario set there. Also, none of the four have the faint green particles built into their model, so I doubt they'd keep them if tamed. I don't think this will work, but I'm double checking the druid portals, to see if one ha...

Re: 8.3 Taming List

non-druids still get booted out of the Emerald Dreamway after 5 seconds. And the only way I know how to get in is with a recruit-a-friend summon. I went in and beast lored one in december, and it was untameable. If it's tameable now, and the only way to get it is within 5 seconds of a RaF summon, yo...
